There was a mention on the Eurosport coverage of the quali that Jorge may have put pen to paper last night!

Movistar with added sponsorship from Red Bull.

i dont believe it. It's way to early in the season to be signing new contracts. If he did that he may find his yamaha support reduced from its current level and jorge wont want that. After all he is still a championship contender for this year.

the rumour mills going to be busy lol

Dani Pedrosa says he has yet to receive a 2010 offer from Honda as rumours that Jorge Lorenzo will join the team from Yamaha next season continue to gather pace.

Lorenzo's future has been a hot topic in recent weeks, amid suggestions that he was unhappy with the financial proposal that he had received from his current team and was considering a big offer from Honda.

AUTOSPORT understands that Lorenzo is now close to a deal to leave the team that brought him into MotoGP and join Honda, raising doubts over Pedrosa's future at the Repsol-backed squad.

When asked about his contractual situation by reporters at Donington Park, Pedrosa replied: "Honda hasn't made any offer to me."

Sources indicate that Pedrosa could have options at Yamaha or Ducati if his long relationship with Honda ends after this season.

Current Yamaha number one Valentino Rossi said he would have no objection to the Spaniard joining him at the team.

"He would be another team-mate difficult to beat, but I've always got on well with Pedrosa, we have a good relationship, so it would be more or less the same," said the world champion. "They'll figure out what to do."

Former factory Yamaha rider Colin Edwards has also been linked with a return to the works squad after two seasons at Tech 3. But Rossi said it mattered little to him whether he was paired with Lorenzo, Pedrosa or Edwards in 2010 - especially as Yamaha has run with a dividing wall in its garage since Rossi and Lorenzo used different tyre brands last year.

"The way the team is organised now, it doesn't change much for me," he said. "If Lorenzo stays it's fine, if Pedrosa arrives it's fine, and if it's neither of them I don't know who might arrive.

"Obviously with Colin we've been team-mates for many years, so I'd be happy, but this decision is up to Yamaha and the rider [who would arrive].

"In my opinion, at the moment, every rider would like to ride a Yamaha in the works team, because our bike is quick."

Eurosport at times have been like a tabloid newspaper. Drama sells, i would take what they say with a pinch of salt.
It aint called the silly season for nothing

In the interview with BBC, JL said his first option is continued to be Yamaha, and when he was asked when he would make decision, he said it cannot be made in one or two weeks.. it would take more. He said it onTuesday, so I am very surprised when he already signed on Friaday unless some massive pressure was on him to sign.

Hopefully, not singed yet. Otherwise, this season is over. Whever he decides to join, I hope he signs at the end of the season!

What are the chances that Jorge signs with Honda, and Fiat Yamaha desides to stop his parts flow, data, etc for the rest of the year? I wouldn't doubt it because in my opinion this woulds mean that Jorge can now take more chances and push a bit more even if it happens to mess Rossi up in the mix. It would almost be as though he isn't Vale's teammate anymore once he signs so then the free for all.

Silly Season... Gossip crap...<a href="http://www.microsofttranslator.com/BV.aspx?ref=Internal&a=http://www.elmundo.es/elmundodeporte/2009/07/16/motor/1247779269.html" target="_blank

Updated July 23rd:

"Only Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) and Casey Stoner (Ducati) have their contracts closed for the next season"

Yamaha: "Yamaha, Lorenzo's current team, has already laid it on the table for the next two years renewal, but the Spanish pilot wants more".

Lorenzo: "Negotiation with Yamaha is stagnant. I still think that Yamaha is the best team for the future, but everything is standstill. My Manager [Marcos Hirsch] and I still think my value is higher than what Yamaha is now ready to offer"…

"Leading factories are interested in Lorenzo"… Assured the own Lorenzo (Talk about third party talkers!)

Yamaha: "Yamaha already has enough with the tab for Valentino Rossi (annual EUR 14 million) not to overload their payroll at these times of crisis"

Pedrosa: "Anybody can dream with what they want, sure that at the end it will be published somewhere before it is truth. For me, nothing changes. I look at my interests. If Repsol and Honda want Lorenzo, get him. If they want Lorennzo to join because they believe that it is good for the team, let them. I will choose the best choice for me, regardless of others".

If Lorenzo signs Honda, then he really is Whore-Gay. If he thinks he's worth more, why doesn't he prove it by beating Rossi?
