You add an obscure spec series to the already existing series. You dont barge in and make an obscure spec series your main line event.See how easy that is DMG

PARKINGO WORLD SERIES

Infront Motor Sports and ParkinGO, of the Oasi Handling Group, have signed a two-year agreement which sees the creation of a new one-make Trophy called "ParkinGO World Series".

The Trophy will be held in conjunction with seven rounds of the FIM Superbike World Championship at Valencia, Assen, Monza, Misano, Brno, Donington and Nuerburgring.

ParkinGO is the leading car park network in the vicinity of the principal Italian airports and is renowned in the world of two-wheel racing as the Title Sponsor of the Triumph BE1 Racing Team which took part in the 2009 Supersport World Championship

The agreement will bring even more content to an already intense calendar of events and it foresees co-marketing deals whereby ParkinGO will become the official sponsor of the three Italian rounds in both the 2010 and 2011 World Superbike seasons.

The make and model of the bikes used for the Trophy will be announced shortly.

Paolo Flammini, CEO of Infront Motor Sports, declared: "We are delighted to have reached this accord with the Oasi Handling Group. We have had the opportunity to get to know Giuliano Rovelli over the years in his role as owner of the Triumph BE1 Racing team and we are sure that thanks to his dynamism and entrepreneurial skill, he will be able to give the right impulse to guarantee the success of this new trophy. A warm welcome therefore to ParkinGo who also become the Official Sponsor of the three Italian rounds of the Superbike World Championship for the next two seasons."

Giuliano Rovelli, Chairman - Oasi Handling: "The decision to sponsor the SBK was taken following our direct experience on the circuit where we witnessed first-hand the immense opportunities this fabulous context could offer our company from a commercial and marketing prospective. By investing in an internationally acclaimed sporting activity of this calibre we have chosen to highlight our company traits which we recognize in motor-cycling in general and in the Superbike World Championship in particular, values such as: courage, passion, efficiency and strength, all of which are basic components of my professional experience. Hence my desire to create a new one-make trophy and name it after my company "ParkinGO World Series".

Maybe KTM 125's? They must have a ton of bikes left over from the Red Bull Rookies cup and the soon to be defunct 125cc MotoGP team. I doubt another 600 class as they already have the 600 Superstock and 600 Supersport classes. Maybe convert the 600 Superstock to a one make? 450 single would be interesting, good junior class.

I'm surprised you think this is a good idea now that the Flaminis are in charge. I seem to remember some scathing posts about DMG running spec 1200XRs or spec Ninja 250s.

Obviously, I don't have a problem with a new spec class as long as it is an undercard or a sideshow. I just hope it's not another slower support class. I've seen enough slow bikes with mommy-daddy politics for one lifetime. AMA and 125GP is bad enough.

Knowing the Flaminis it will probably be an Italian brand. Aprilia are pissed about the demise of 250GP so they are probably going to resurrect the RS250.

The BMW Boxer Cup was popular for a few years. Then the one make series' moved to the R6. I think the goal is keeping costs low, so running any old GP bikes would be out of the question.

1. it is a "junior" class, running at only 7 european venues.

2.this is WSB so think current production models with low purchase/running costs (relatively)
an aprilia RS250 is not that bike although it would be cool to see.

Moto2 got to use a production engine as long as it was only 1 make. Maybe InFront are getting a prototype class as long as it is only 1 make. What else are Aprilia going to do with their 250GP team? Fire everyone? Keep 10 people to build a rolling chassis and field a Moto2 team?

Not saying it will be Aprilia, but I have a sneaky suspicion.

We need world championship scooter racing. I vote Vespa despite how much I hate it.
