Where is our thread on the forum saying well done to Sylvain Guintoli for winning the coveted 'Rookie of the Year' in the Moto gp class?

I mean he's been up against such fierce competition such as....

Respect Sylvers.

Wouldn't Westy beat him to the prize at this rate?

Are trying to bait the Anthony West fans and the Anthony West fan haters?

Ant has done a few races before, but i'm not sure if that counts. I'm guessing it doesn't, so Ant will be rookie of the year.

Ant's not 'a rookie' in the premier class per se.. He competed for a year in 500cc back in 2001 on a twin against the V4s, beat the likes of Criville, Checa and Roberts who were all on fours at a few rounds (Phillip Island namely, he called it one of his greatest ever rides
<
) and finished the highest twin-riding competitor in the championship.. So im assuming that would rule out his eligibility for this years 'rookie of the year' title..

Aahh, i knew there was more to it than i thought, but i actually didn't know he raced an entire season. I was under the impression he was a replacement rider of some kind, my bad.

Which team was he with?

DC Jeans Racing? They were Dutch.. His teammate was current WSS rider Barry Veneman..

Edit: Oh and he was forced to race for this team after he arrived at round 1; 2001 and his 'factory Aprilia' team, that 'wooed' him in the pre-season with business class flights and empty promises, failed to show up at all; no bike, no team, nothing.. Apparent bankrupcy was the cause, Dee Cee Jeans Racing offered him the ride and he was there, rideless, so he took it for the rest of the season... Honda promised him a ride on a V4 for 2002, surprise surprise, that never came about either, so he was left rideless for that year.. Bit of history for those who care
