Why would you rid the series of rider aids when Ben Spies can do a 1:23.1 here on a superbike. I know that this may be extrapolation but everyone past 7th place here cannot beat a GSXR1000 round this circuit.

ECU gets the blame for the general malaise in motogp, in this series unless you can go faster than a superbike then maybe
- the whole series is irrelevant and it should be canned, superbikes are pretty close anyway.
- everybody else should be looking at ways to go faster, not looking at ways to slow the faster one down.

The whole series is falling into the pattern of blaming 800's (Honda's idea) and the ECU Casey has (owned by Yamaha) when maybe all they have to do is brake later and get on the gas earlier. Just maybe...

Man Stoner is fast at Laguna. Hopefully there is a good battle for the other podium spots throughout the race and not just the first 4 laps.

Surprising to see the rainbow warrior from San Marino doing so well on that customer bike. Interesting to see two Honda's, one on Michelin, one on Bridgestone turning similar lap times.

Good to see marco doing better.

Otherwise, even I don't think stoner is this good, although the pattern for the whole year suggests that valentino will undoubtedly be closer come race-time. I guess there still must be some human element in the sport as I assume chris vermeulen's rather than his bike's liking for the track is playing some part in his performance.

I saw a recent dennis noyes piece from a link to speed tv where he says the manufacturers rather than ezy are largely responsible for these rules with purported quotes from ezpeleta to this effect.

or, they could just slow the superbike class down....and maintain the aura of "prestige".

I'm talking about Race Pace. You can't go by final results because some guys whacked a Q in there.

Until the last few mins, Casey was consistently hitting 21, Rossi was all alone at 22, and #3-#16 ran 23s.

Part of the trouble as I have said previously is that different people are in effective control of the 2 formulae.

Dennis noyes has just written a piece proposing the radical solution of getting FIM to control motogp

. Perhaps it might be a good idea to get them to run wsbk too

Why would an established rider waste a Q in free practice?

Of course it doesn't. It doesn't mean he randomly wasted a Q either.

Is this a serious question or are you just pulling my chain?

Look at Stoner's laps here - so far ahead of everyone else it's silly.
