Possible, but not likely given his race pace is crap....and that is all down to Michelin not Nicky....CV will go past him within the first 10 laps to take 3rd....Nicky will be lucky to be top Michelin runner in 10th.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (pacman @ Jul 19 2008, 11:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Did Stoner actually bother with a quali tire?
Yes, but almost as a token gesture to Dorna and Bridgestone.

Stoner is as awesome now as ever, and truely can retake his title this year. I am coming to the conclusion that his only rival is Rossi since Pedrobot's ability, stature and strength is just not enough for MotoGP class. I think that in 2009 or 2010 Dovi will be main man at HRC Repsol and not Dani.

Maybe he did. Cant you write something useful intead the Pinky style ....?

As like last year, Vermeulen set his quali time on race tyres. He is the one to watch. He screwed up slightly by getting p8 in quali but he and Rossi are the only two with enough race pace to possible trail Stoner somewhat.

The Michies are anybody's guess. As they are all up front though, it could make for a nice race.

I think we are set up for

1. Casey
2. Vale
3. Chris.

With the apparent demise of the Michelin effort this round the big guess is who will fill positions 3,4 and 5...

Good call, nearly got it right!"

Where did yamaha find a bit of speed... were they sandbagging?

I know Stoner was still faster but only a couple tenths at best when he had a bit of clear air.

MMM, wouldn't be the first time, that burgess has been in the game a long time, it's as much about physcological training as electronics.
