I think you offended Mr Casey Stoner
<
<
<

I many parts of the world "Whats up ....... " seems to be used as a greeting ..... I am assuming you used it in that manner?? ( else it seems odd you expected a courteous reply from an Aussie
<
)

In most parts of Australia ( except some parts of the city, who watch a lot of movies
<
<
) .... "Whats up XXXXX " is a question similar to asking "What is your problem?", "What ails you?", "who's got up your bum?", usually its a question inquiring as to the reason somebody seems "antsy","testy", "not well", "out of sorts", or just generally has a problem that has become obvious to those around ...... its "bush talk" not "ghetto" or "hood talk"
<

I'm trying to figure where it came from because now when I think about it, why would you ask about what has got somebody feeling "down" by asking "what is up ... ?? "
<
<
( the only thing I can think is that it came from the phrase "what's got up your bum!!??")

So given the current knowledge of Stoners fitness problems ...... he probably just thought you were being another heckling Rossi fan
<
<
<

Never mind ....... a few words thats all it was ..... thats all it takes, you have to remember we are standing upside down here, so sometimes the intended meanings of words/phrases are inverted also
<
<
<
<

Not suggesting his PR would recommend he talked to too many tour groups either though, my guess is he would have been trying to concentrate on a task at hand too
<
.... so who knows?

Nice try to cover for Casey.
<
C'mon man, ....... anybody who travels the world and comes to the US knows "what's up" is a common greeting. CK didn't say, "what's your problem" or anything that could be mildly construed as "heckling".

Hey, Rossi, the eternal socialite snubbed CK too...it is what it is, both men where in their office I guess. But yeah, its rude not to extend at least a look at somebody greeting you. Its not like there were hundreds of fans trying to get Stoner/Rossi's attention. CK was just one of 50 very special guest who donated big ... bucks to the charity. All the riders knew that when these people were walking around. A little waive would have gone a long way to make a fan. Perhaps something to think about when trying to attract sponsors and deep pockets. Its imply decent courtesy of human interaction....

I told CK that he was just probably busy at work and not to take it to heart. But then again, I didn't pay a month's wages to have a special day with the GP riders. Hell I've been snubbed by Nicky himself as I recall! (I'll admit, trying to get into his car, while he tried to close the door might have been a bad move in retrospect, but hey, the door was open)
<

Oh, that explains alot. No wonder your post are all backward thinking, your trying to compensate for the head rush.

Try the phrase "what's up XXXX" in any general store in say .... Walcha ( and around my parts for that matter ) in Aust. then come back and tell me what it means They may well know its a phrase, used in the US for a greeting, but they'll ( I'll ) be bu#g@red if they/I use it! )
<
<
<

Think "Ma and Pa Kettle" and how Pa Kettle would give you and answer to the phrase and you'd be closer
<
<
though I suppose he'd say "the sky .... near as I can recollek"
<
<

But I tend to agree with the day at the office theory more. Must be fun being a spectacle in the middle of a hard day at the office
<

Edit: I wonder how Gabor Talmacsi, or say Lorenzo, or Melandri would answer the question "Whats up Gabor!?" ?

you could live of that as a language translator in my area here

You don't even have to have travelled the world, anyone who has ever seen Bugs Bunny knows what it means!

Bearing in mind how exclusive these riders for health tickets are , on 50 available worldwide and how much they cost no one should be left feeling in the slightest bit disappointed imo.

Berry you can play the stoner apologist to your hearts content, but at the end of the day you were neither there nor forked out the considerable sum of money for this once in a life time experience. I think it was piss poor of stoner and rossi to snub these fans that held these very exclusive tickets.
An acknoledgment cost nothing .

I think by the sounds of it this riders for health event need better organisation , you would expect all riders to make themselves available for at least a few minutes. If you cant even get autographs and photos with the stars at this event then whats the point ?

I bet your glad you didn't pay full price for the ticket now kid
<

I underestand words have different meanings in different parts of the world. Ive never been to Australia, but this little ........... was in my back yard!!!!!
<
<
<
No but seriously I think these dudes get hounded so much by the fans specially in Europe that they eventually must get fed up. Casey still has it good, Poor Rossi had more people waiting near his garage all weekend than any other attraction at the whole fucken track. Being that i speak fluent spanish i have no problem communicating with the spanish rider and i speak a tiny bit of italian, enough to get by with the riders and crew. Last year i spoke with Jorge Lorenzo who was really nice and even took a picture with me and when I said hi to Loris and Marco melandri they had no problem saying hi back. I guess i have to brush up on my Aussie

I also feel these people who shelled out good money for these tickets got duped. What an unorganized event it seemed, didn't they advertised it as getting to 'hang out' and eat lunch with Valentino Rossi and the rest of the stars? And yet Rossi didn't even bother to give a minute of his time to say hi to these people and thank them for their donations to charity..... I mean heck, the people who bought the tickets probably donated more money than Rossi himself probably, cuz you hardly hear any stories of Rossi doing anything for charity at all, apart from putting stickers on his rally car.

"I want to make him a fan of actual Brits..."

So I’m waling around the garages during the pitwalk getting as many “depot” pictures as possible…(BTW, can somebody please tell me what the hell Babel meant by “depot” pictures?) Anyway, let me back up a bit. When I left the RV for the track, I had my trusty point and shoot run of the mill digital pocket camera in hand. Ah, only to discover I had left the battery back in the charger. ....! So I’m standing in line to walk the garages when every single motogp rider passes by me literally 3 feet away. An not in a rush either, they strolled by me. All I could do is say Ola, Chao, Hi, and for our Aussies, “What’s up”. But no freaking pictures to prove it. So the event staff starts letting us in and everybody goes over to Rossi’s garage. ....’em, I think, I’m gonna go check out the guys that need some love.

I hear an air cannon going off and sure enough, its Edwards firing T-..... into the crowd. So I go over to the Tech-3 area, but too many people around Colin to catch a glimpse. Ah, but there is Toesland, with a crowd of his own, and his assistant is giving out posters. Cool. So I stroll over and lean on the gate and spark up a conversation with him. ‘What’s up James?’ “All’s well mate”, he replies. ‘I have a curious question man, why is it that Americans love you more than Brits who seem to have a love affair with a certain Italian, not even one of their own?’ His reply, “Because Americans appreciate talent!” (as he laughs). ‘Well I have a Brit friend named Roger who came with me last year. He loved this place, but he had an ugly yellow jersey on…ya know. I want to make him a fan of actual Brits, can you help me with that?’ So he gets a poster from his assistant and signs one: “To Roger, best wishes!” and signs it! Hahahahaha.

Not much bias here - neither Vale or Stoner acknowledge you but you call one a .......... and you feel sorry that the other one has it so hard. Methinks you've been sucking to much of Vale's ...... Did you leave any for Uccio?

Vale does have it hard. If you've ever been in the paddock you'd know. Casey has like almost zero fans, so even if all of them wanted a picture and autograph, he'd be done in 2 minutes.

No Uccio will have no part of any other man getting in the way of his and Vale's relationship! it was really hard!! So while Casey was over crying in the corner Id thought id put the moves on Adriana instead

Its all good man, this isn't a Stoner bashing party. You know I got Stoner's back. (Even though he did snub me too.) Hell we hooked up one of your countryman with about a thousand dollars worth of passes and VIP tickets at zero charge just to have a Stoner fan around. That is no ........!

He didn't sign much autographs. I had my Ducati shirt, but he stood about three feet from the crowd and just waved.
7292:Casey_wave.JPG]

On second thought, maybe Casey was being considerate and didn't want us to catch his mystery illness, eh?

Nicky on the other hand signed my shirt and even posed for a pic on my request.
