+1, though I don't think Dani has the stamina to go the full distance at what is a very physically demanding circuit. He hasn't ridden a race here for nearly two years either. Good call on CV, he loves Laguna - don't we all? Casey remains the only rider to make the Desmo work here. It's never gone well at Laguna, either in it's 990 or 800 incarnation.

Rossi 101. Stoner won't be able to fight but could place second. Vermin in third again...

MMM... It's only a week away, not a lot of time to recoup is there, Pedro & Stoner in trouble maybe.

Skidded on puke?

I seriously doubt that Lorenzo will be competitive at Laguna. Don't know why, just a feeling. If Stoner is not well, Rossi is going to run away with it I think.

looking at the tight lines lorenzo was holding at catalyuna, i think he has every chance at laguna

I'd love to say Hayden for this one.

I still think it'll be the usual 3 though.

1. Stoner
2. Rossi
3. Lorenzo

Rossi
Stoner (if he is fit)
Lorenzo
CV
Edwars
Hayden.

it will be very intresting to see how much yamaha improved on ducati dominent circuit.Last couple years Stoner was more than half a second quicker in every single session.

But if stoner is fit i can see another very close race between Rossi and Stoner.Lorenzo might struggle on this track, even Rossi struggle for first couple of years(06,07) but having said that it could be down to michelin tyres because they were crap on this circuit.

Assuming Stoner remains in Crazytown, it's gotta be Rossi, Lorenzo, and probably Edwards or Choose-a-Repsol. Long odds would be Colin for a win, but only through someone else's ahem misfortune. Might be worth a tenner.

The real question is whether the racing will be close. This was the most recent race with a potential last lap overtake before Stoner fell. Nice, tight circuit (that's what she said) and everybody knows where to pass at the corkscrew now. It'll be interesting to see if Rossi has to use the same technique as 08 or if someone uses it on him.

Hopefully we get a close one and Laguna begins to build a great history of awesome battles.

Agree with Rog about Lorenzo's cornering abilities.

Casey is the big question - is he physically / mentally up for it?
Also, it seems the Duc has been slightly off pace lately, even over a single lap. Not by much, but I do think the Yam is a few 10ths quicker overall. Can Ducati rebound, by way of parts or setup?

1 - J-Lo!
2 - Stoner
3 - Rossi (Due for a bad race, he might even crash!)
4 - Edwards
5 - Haystack
6 - Vermie
7 - Doviozo

Don't usually jump into these prediction threads as I tend to be the kiss of death to a racers success more often than not, but here goes.

Lorenzo - to good not to get a top result
Rossi - some guys get lucky and win 100 races and 8 championships (As an aside Geonard - he has already had the yearly bad race with his 16th or whatever earlier this year)
Vermuelen - like Laguna Seca
Stoner - even when not fully fit is still pulling top 3 finishes and is one of the top 3, but Vermi likes this place to much.

Ove the next few places I think they will be fought out by Capirex, Depuniet, Dovisioso, Edwards and Pedrosa. Sadly I expect Hauden near the bottom with teh other Ducati's and Takahashi to come back a bit earlier than he had hoped.
