Hey just an idea. How about a spec tire this year? You know, one company and single compounds to slow the riders down? .... ya.

Hey just an idea. How about a new formula for 2007? You know, 800cc to slow the riders down? .... ya

I don't have time to look it up just now - but in the recent RR World they quoted
a bunch of stats that show - that in but a few minor exceptions - racing is less close
than last year.

Okay so maybe there is a God - but I'm still not willing to concede his
name is Rossi.

BTW - there being so many guys here with encyclopedic recall of stats
(and good use of Google) - I'd be curious to know if anybody knows
what circuit has produced either the most crashes per season or the
most injuries; ie which is the most dangerous track. I'd bet even money the
riders themselves have some kind of consensus on this.

when it was in the calendar, probably suzuka. estoril should be second i think.

i think rossi knows not to push over the limit.. goes 99%.. but both stoner and lorenzo today passed their bikes' limits! we'll see what will happen tomorrow..

Funnily enough, Toby and Julian mentioned during Friday qualifying that when GP came back to Laguna in '05, Colin commented that even post modifications, there are certain corners where you simply still cannot afford to crash. They then went on to mention Opitija in Yugoslavia, which was lined by cliffs, with a few straw bales on the edge. The only way to safely ride this circuit was at 70%. It claimed the life of Michel Rougerie amongst others.

Currently, I would say that Laguna is probably the most dangerous on the GP calendar - unless you choose to race at the brickyard in a near hurricane.

not according to jumkie, he was at the heli medi vac and saw them putting him in the chopper. he said superbike planet are full of ..... doesnt mean he wont race after being treated tho ,, hopfully

lorenzo seems ok in himself there a video of him commenting on motop.com... fracture in foot and dislocated collarbone but hes gonna see if he can ride in the warmup.

stoner seems fine and will race.

lorenzo isnt happy with the tyres he said they are dangerous.... both crashed with closed throttles.

Just watched the video of Stoner crashing. .... man - the guy put in
some serious air-time - he should request frequent flier miles.
Glad to know he's in one piece. Lorenzo looked like a rag doll.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SuperShinya56 @ Jul 4 2009, 10:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Man.... I hope Lorenzo and Stoner is able to race tomorrow.

And what is up with Casey Stoner? He had bike trouble, but did he really need to stand up on his bike and made a point for the cameras to catch it? No wonder people say he is a complainer... he almost got hit by another rider by slowing down and standing up on his bike, putting on a theatrical show.

I suppose Stoner has some kind of secret squirrel earpiece that he uses so that his crew can tell him any time the camera's are on him....................................??

Give me a break. There are probably no fewer than 30 camera's around that course and you assume that he knew one of them was on him and behaved accordingly....... You may not like the guy but you should at least be fair in your criticism.

Hopefully both Casey and Jorge will be able to Race with some competiveness otherwise the race will be a bore, the championship will be just about over, and a bunch of back markers will look better than they actually are...

I wish Casey and Jorge a speed recovery...
