<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Arrabbiata1 @ May 7 2008, 10:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>bring back Kyalami to WSB.

From what I heard last week, it's a done deal and there's a date on the calender for '09, which means we get to see Nori sliding his Yamaha into the mineshaft again. Great news!

On the subject of all things South African looking forward to seeing Hudson Kennaugh at Snett on Sunday in BSS because he's always spectacular. In fact bike championship grids should be full of the buggers because they're all headbanging mad bad .......s - lunatics like Paddy Driver used to concoct and bring his own fuel....(listen up Ezzy there's a way to make your proposed Supersport class you're stealin' off Flammini a true prototype formula without consulting expensive lawyers). Gary Hocking..massively talented..Ok he was a Welshman from Zimbabwe and he was actually quite sane and level headed, but he learnt his trade in S.Africa - where they're all nutters btw. Jody Scheckter...yeah o.k he drove a car, ( I'm sure he won International Superstars before there was Brian Jacks) - renowned basket case nonetheless. Next stop for Hurricane Kennaugh WSS, then Batta can bin Nieto or Meregali can consign Corser to long overdue retirement and we can get Hudders on the Gixer or R1 in 2010!!

Phakisa Freeway for GP again anyone?

How about that, MASSIVE MASSIVE omission on my part. Jim Redman- 250 and 350 and TT demon...like Hocking he moved to Rhodesia didn't he, only he was a Londoner. A man after my own heart - branding Mallory dangerous because of it's deceptively simple layout and non existant grip levels - I think he even refused to ride it at one stage; coming from a multiple victor at the island who knows danger when he see's it, and still noone listens. Build an effin eco village or a landfill site on the place - it's a deathtrap - .... circuit!!!!
<

Thanks for pointing out such a blatant oversight BigAl

'tis a pleasure, he really is a 2-wheel maestro and a downright decent bloke too! always has time to talk bikes...
and, one of only a very select few who has won all 3 race categories on the same day...at the cathedral too (thats assen to those who dont know
<
)
also responsible for Rhodesia/zimbabwe being in the top ten of the list of Gp winners by nation...

ok, i am now stopping the adoration before it gets beyond stalking levels...

Kyalami is where i first saw world spec bike racing (WSB) and it has changed the way i think about life, for the better i hope, so to have it back on the calender is a biggie...

Mallory is my local circuit so I`ll stick up for it and say I`ve never had a bad day there,nice people,nice paddock and top viewing facilities.

Good news, produced some great races in the past and extends the sport of motorcycle racing back to Africa.
