This is probably one of the best interviews ever.

Kenny explains the 1991 season, why the riders started crashing frequently in the 1990s, what killed Suzuki in 2001, why traction control is awful, why the Honda V5 was epic, why John Hopkins is chronically injured, and conspiracy at Laguna Seca 2006.

That's just the tip of the iceberg.

My favorite parts:

Quote regarding Team KR's 2007 season

I would have bet all the money in my bank account that we were going to win races in 2007

The Honda V5

My Dad put that Honda thing together for a year, and it was the best motor I've ever ridden before or since. The thing had power from 6,000 to 16,000 or 16,500 and you never knew when to shift. The light would just come on b/c I couldn't tell if the thing was at 10, 12, 15, it didn't matter. You would pull that thing out of the garage and they would put a new motor in it, or an old motor, and you couldn't tell if they switched motors. I never had any one run different than another one. Every time you put the starter on it and you let the clutch out, Boom, it fires right up. It's just like, dude, this thing is a machine

Carmelo and the control tire

I said in 2007 when I stopped to Carmelo, he got all pissed of at me b/c I stopped. I was like, look this is stupid if you go out there and watch these guys they don't even move [around on the tires]. And he said "this is not stupid!" and he just went on this rant, and Valentino had to calm him down. No, Carmelo, we're serious. The tires control the lap times not the engines........ so if you can control the tires you can control the lap times

Other best part is when he's talking about rider diets. Sounds like he's eating through that segment.

Yep it's bloody good. I've onlylistened the once but what conspiracy at Laguna in 06? Oh and did he say he didn't even have anti-wheelie on the KR211V?

He said that Honda came to him on Saturday morning and told him he was no longer allowed to use the engine map that he used to set the fastest times on Friday.

Thom, I've just been looking at your avatar for the last minute or so and I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is what I'm really seeing, if you get my drift. Those are all top notch riders ( is Sete coming third, I can't squint hard enuff? ), but are those lean angles real.....or is it some distortion of my oddly shaped monitor/alcohol abuse?

THIS PODCAST SHOULD BE REQUIRED LISTENING BY ANYBODY WHO ASPIRES TO HAVE KNOWLEDGE OR A REASONABLE OPINION ON MOTOGP!!!

KRJR just told the world what is wrong with MotoGP, what is wrong with all racing. And because the rest of the racing world is as dumb as he said Suzuki is, that we'll never know racing again.

That aint all he told. He confirmed a lot of things that some have been saying for years.

Confirmation of what many have been saying for years, great stuff.

Scathing on Honda and what we now are finally seeing was their intent, the Spanish cup. With all of this in the open you have to wonder how they can continue to justify the allowance of the rider aids.

"Sete gets an immediate 500 more RPMs at the post season test"

Should we start a "who is lying part 2" thread. In Rossi's autobiography, he spends four pages (60 thru 64) telling how his bike is no different from Sete's and Biaggi's.

+1

This interview is so chock-full of info, it's practically a reference book for MotoGP competition.

thats so ....... lame of rossi if this is true.

and somehow i give krjr more credibility than ANY active rider

hey dumb dumbs..Rossi in the book was talking about the Repsol, Camel, and Telefonica RC211Vs being the same ..The Proton is the one that had the customer tune.. and all were better than the M1 when Doc left Honda
