Do we need to rehash the ridiculously stupid statement that you made when you said Kevin Schwantz is “over-rated”?

I'm pretty sure you understand the nuances of English (maybe not), being that you are a student and all, but to help you understand, he was talking about mental strength, in other word, know as heart for racing.

Schwantz had a lions heart for racing.

Yeah, I read you said you didn't think Schwantz was "smart" in another thread; I ignored it because I figured I'd let that one pass, but here you completely missed his point.

You don't give props to Schwantz because he crashed often. Yeah, this was in an era where the bikes were a beast, and on top of that he was on a notoriously ...... bike compared to his contemporaries riding the Hondas and Yamahas (which were also beasts). Check the stats of how many champions there have been in the last 20 years on Suzukis and ask yourself why? The man won consistently over a span of several years, sometime more than the season champ, this is not due to lack of mental strength or being smart/dumb; but rather because he was on the ragged edge, more so than his "smarter" (sarcasm) competitors.

Tom may not realise the talent and value of Kevin Schwantz, but Suzuki certainly do. Kevin is still very much Mr. Suzuki.

School doesn't teach wisdom, only life experience does. I suppose you had to be there to appreciate it.

Maybe if kevin was a smarter man he would have left Suzuki for these other teams with much better bikes. Or maybe he realized that his bike was as good as theirs and he needed to get on and ride it. A very talented rider without the inteligence/mental strength is not a rare thing, fortunately Kevin was so talented he won a lot of races, and ultimately kept himself together for a single title. I'm not knocking the man because he is clearly a world champion and a big name rider of his day, i just don't rate him like you might.

After all I easily have the wisdom not to take this place seriously since i can so rarely get an actual stimulating conversation.
