MIKA KALLIO has been sidelined for the US round of MotoGP at Laguna Seca due to injuries sustained to his left hand during the Assen crash in the Dutch TT.

The Finnish rider seriously damaged a finger on his left hand when he crashed during his last-lap dice with Britain's James Toseland. It's expected Kallio will have surgery on the damaged digit in the near future.

Pramac Racing have decided not to replace Kallio at Laguna Seca, so Italian Niccolò Canepa will be the the only rider competing for the satellite Ducati team.

Mika Kallio: "I was excited about the race at Laguna Seca. We have taken this decision together with the heads of the team and I think that is probably the best solution."

Haha that would be nice but Yamaha would never let Spies ride the Ducati under contract. I was hoping for a wildcard ride from Spies. Speaking of wildcards, are there any for Laguna this year?

Let Larry Pegram take a crack, .... it, why not. Shame to let one bike sit in the paddock.

That sucks, I really wanted to meet this guy. He seems a nice dude. Hope for speedy recovery.

I could tell that was a nasty injury as soon as he got up. Started holding it and appeared to be in some real pain. Heal up quick Mika.

he might still be in the paddock, just not racing. would be a good idea to at least see the track in real life and i am sure there will be promotional duties to be done. its a 3 week lay-off after laguna so plenty of recuperation time as well. hope you do see him there...
