Who was announced for the 06 Factory Ducati team?

What evidence shows lack of support from his team for this season?

Maybe i'm just an uninformed American lol, but please follow through with these things so we all know the details instead of guessing!

That's true and were did you get this info from??

I've read the information too, it is reported at www.crash.net

I believe the factory team will retain Regis Laconi and are trying to enlist the services of Troy Bayliss, that's the way it has been sounding.

As far as lack as support goes you just have to wonder what is happening, here is a guy who won the title and beat Laconi regularly last year in a straight fight and suddenly can't do much better than a 4th here and there and now Laconi is consistantly finishing with the front runners. Things that make you say hmm....

It is hard to say whether or not JT will be competitive, Ron is talking about how difficult it is for Superbike riders to make the adjustment in riding style from a Superbike to a MotoGP machine. Troy Bayliss struggled/is struggling mightily with the switch, Edwards has shown a GP machine is a different animal all together although he is having some success on the M1. Other than Edwards the only Superbike rider who has successfully switched to GP I would say is Nicky Hayden and I would attribute that to his age. It is easier to adjust your riding style when you are young and I think JT will be able to do the same. As far as where his talent will place him among the MotoGP field, especially on the Suzuki... I have a feeling Hopkins will embarrass him should Hopper stick with Suzuki for 2006. I love JT, other then BBoz he is my favorite WSB rider but I have my doubts about his abilities.

True Ooost he is young but also quite "old" in his carrer as hes been racing since he was 15. He also has quite a heavy, aggressive riding style which IMO might not do him any good- i hope im wrong.

About Hopper tho, if JT went to Suzuki, yes i think hopper would embarrass him as i beleive hopper will always be better on a GP machine also because in terms of mental strength i beleive hopper is top 5. He has mental strength, talent, but not the machine.

Agreed, let's hope Hopper gets a better ride and JT gets a shot with Suzuki. Couldn't hurt right?

No it wouldnt hurt him at all. JT is very mature which is one of the reasons he won last year and why he is where he is. I think that will help him in GP a lot.

He is def someone who deserves a shot at the big league.

JT is a talented rider but hasn't shown much this season. But then again Speed channel keeps airing the races on Tuesday afternoons and I forget to record them. So I haven't seen too many WSBK races but what I have seen hasn't been too impressive. Ok there was a few good races in there.

I don't think he is ready for a GP ride.

The real question is it Him or Ducati with the problem

Is he really going to hold on to Kenny Jr. for another season? I stil believe Kenny has some pace left in him but he doesn't show it on the Suzuki, I mean what's the point in riding over your head to finish 9th?

JT just dosn't rate, nor does any other SBK rider over the last couple of years not since Edwards got his title. The reason SBK title has been worth nothing for this time, as the racing has been stale, there has only been Ducati's racing, with a works Ducati always works Ducati SBK champ.

This year has improved but will really be next year when everyones up to speed and again the SBK title will be worth something. Manufacters have only really been sorting there bikes this year Suzuki had the jump on everyone and got a way abit.

Sorry just don't rate

in the first quarter of the wsb season JT announced that he had not tested any new parts and ducati had not done any testing with him and that his bike was not getting the attention it required at race meetings even to the extent of not having new sets of tyres ready for him but laconi was getting all the backup it was only after he made it public that ducati did some testing with him (forced into a corner me thinks)
to win at his level you have to have 110% confidence in your team and your bike and of course be happy you dont need distractions or other issues going on in the background
surely Ducati announcing in public that they dont want him next year says it all he certainly hasnt crashed as many times as laconi but JT's bike seems to give up more often
something hapened during the winter imho between JT and Ducati and they have done all they can to make his season fail dumping him will have really boosted his confidence

I didn't hear any of that arryace but I had been wondering for quite some time. I don't know what happened but for one reason or another Ducati seemed to split with JT. To be honest it was probably over JT's decision not to go race the final AMA SBK round as Laconi and Lanzi did. He hasn't done anything else for Ducati but win them a world championship. If JT doesn't get a ride in MotoGP, do you think the rumored HRC entry into WSB could come knocking on his door? Or else he would surely make himself at home with the Renegade squad.

would be nice to see him join HRC and then stuff ducati next season no rider deserves to be treated badly
he is a young talent and with the rite backing he will go far
