Posted: 01 Mar 2007 16:37 Post subject: MAN F### the "Speed Channel"!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am in disgust with your so called "SPEED CHANNEL"...
Why don't you change it to The Napcar Channel....it seems thats all you SHOW!...

The World Superbike season kicked off last "WEEKEND", but not showing till TUESDAYS?
WTH is wrong with you people....It's bad enough your coverage of Moto GP is crap, and thats cause the CHAMPION (NICKY HAYDEN) is an American!

i suggest whomever is in charge of program scheduling take their head out of NASCARS A$$, and open their eyes....

with much hate, Alx

From a news release by Dorna: (Wasserman Media manages riders such as Jake Zemke and Travis Pastrana, among others):

Dorna Sports selects Wasserman Media Group to secure global marketing partners for MotoGP

Select marketers to join with world's most prestigious motorcycle racing World Championship for first time ever

Los Angeles and Madrid March 1, 2007

Dorna Sports, the exclusive holder of the MotoGP World Championship commercial and television rights, has appointed Wasserman Media Group (WMG) to manage global marketing opportunities for its marquee racing events. Through the agreement, WMG will offer preferred brands an opportunity to partner with MotoGP, the world's most popular and prestigious motorcycle racing series, for the first time ever.

Led by WMG Marketing President, Jeff Knapple, Wasserman Media Group will represent Dorna and its MotoGP proposition to marketers on a global basis. Jeff Slack, Executive Vice President, European Sales will front the efforts in that territory.

"For marketers and audiences alike, MotoGP is categorically one of world's most valuable yet untapped global platforms. It is a privilege to partner with Dorna to strategically identify and align appropriate marketing partners with this unique motorsports experience," commented Knapple.

"We are delighted to reach this special agreement with WMG," added Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports. "The popularity of MotoGP is booming in all corners of the globe and we are constantly working to embrace the new commercial opportunities this presents. We are sure that WMG can help us towards this aim and we are looking forward to a fruitful partnership with them in the future."

MotoGP is the pinnacle of motorcycle racing, with events held in four continents every season and 58 years of illustrious history. MotoGP is hugely popular and in 2006 the sport's global audience figures reached over 5.2 billion. The series will have 18 races, across 15 countries in 2007. Television viewers from more than 200 countries enjoy Grand Prix action every year, with an average of over 304 million viewers per race.
The global reach of this exciting sport offers marketers the ability to reach their customer through television broadcasts, on-site signage, on-line, hospitality and promotions. The appeal throughout the world of MotoGP to adults 18-34, provides marketers with a compelling opportunity to reach this elusive demographic in a meaningful way.

Dorna Sports has been the exclusive holder of the commercial and television rights relating to the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix (MotoGP) since 1992.

What became of the SPEED CHANNEL?....

I'm besides my self with anger...the WSBK season kicked off last Saturday and Sunday...when did it air on "SPEED"???? Tuesday!?!

And from what i can see, the PI race will be treated the same way...for you NASCAR dumb dumbs "PI" is Phillip Island, one of the greatest motorcycle race tracks in the WORLD!...

You know it's not as if us bike race fans are asking for it to be broadcast live...but is it that much of an issue to air it on Sundays??...can we maybe move "The Wives of NASCAR" reality shows to a later time?.

And as if thats not bad enough..
The MOTO GP coverage on "SPEED" is rubbish...and thats cause the WORLD CHAMPION IS AN AMERICAN!!! ....let me say that again... the "WORLD" Champion...not the NAPCAR world champ of America...but the MOTO GP CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!...
Mr. Nick "The Kentucky Kid" Hayden....

And it's not only Motorcycle racing that is missing...I remember a time when WRC, BAJA, DAKAR, Le MANS 24 hour, Nurbergring 24hr, hell even lawn-mower races were televised!..even lawn-mowers are more exciting than NAPCAR...HEY LEFT TURN!

Seriously...i'm not trying to be an a-hole..and by all means not wanting nascar off the channel, but give the other sports i mentioned a fair showing..

Support what few American we have in MOTO GP...one of them is WORLD CHAMPION.

with deep regret...CURVE.

get em al. iam with you. where's frosy when you need him?

i know what your saying. showing the premire of the SBK season on a tuesday at 12 am is nuts. keep on fightin!

Apart from BOYCOTTING companies that refuse to support MotoGP, I went further to buy products that sponsor MotoGP.... like San Disk, HANNspree, Playstation, LG... etc... show them you love the sport! I even emailed HANNspree to thank them for supporting WSBK and MGP and say that they have me as a buyer!

This is fantastic, nice one mate. Its as important to thank companies for their support of the sport as it is to complain to those who don't. Hopefully letters like this will keep them involved in the sport for as long as possible.
