Stoner fans should be ashamed and he should be disgusted with himself! He has obviously quit. He practically said so during his comments after FP2. He isn't going to try anymore, that much is clear. Blaming arm put at Qatar, the track everybody knows he owns, then a dismal qual behind his teammate here, behind a satellite bike and even a ...... Ducati (in the dry no less). I wonder if he's trying to tell Honda something, I’m sure of it! Probably. Get this ....... chatter thing sorted you goons is what he undoubtedly is screaming at them. He's obviously playing games since he was number one during testing (how else can we explain his sad pathetic qual?) There is no excuse for him to come behind a Ducati in the dry. ...., even CRTs are beating Ducatis now, and Stoner got beat by a Ducati, what a fall from grace. Not to mention a satellite bike from a rival Jap brand. Pedro is embarrassing Stoner, again. The gap to the front from 5th is nothing less than shameful, a second off the pace, are you ....... kidding me. He is totally and absolutely unmotivated and has thrown in the towel, this much is palpable. I wonder if he just sees the challenge by Lorenzo too great to overcome and has folded like a deck of cards (despite his fans desperate to explain he’s gust being 'pragmatic'--a euphemism for giving-up). Maybe he's thinking of his wife or new kid, hey, I have an idea, he should stage an interview where his wife asks him questions, its working for that other guy who has “quit”!

There really is no explanation for his dismal qualifying. Second row on the best bike in the paddock, are you kidding me? He's lucky headcase Spies and satellite Dovi didn't qual ahead of him, after all, they were nipping at his heels. Obviously Casey’s head isn't straight, I mean, did you see him in qual, running off the track and ..... Only 5 positions up on the nearest CRT, wow, thats, embarrassing! And what's with the mystery surrounding his treatment of this mystery arm pump, uhm, is this supposed to be some medical top secret? Answer the ....... question during the conference will you please. Admit it, you got the arm pump from playing pocket tennis. It was a dry qual was it not? Stoner getting beat during qual by a second year satellite bike who squeaked by as rookie of the year, not to mention dumpster-baby Ducati that was just spit out by the Ducati ...... they call a garage. Oh, and his teammate, who probably was glad to be out of jail and not somebody's ..... (well not including Officer Puig) beat him at his decidedly non "bogey" track last race and then again today by close to a second, geez, Stoner is getting whipped by the midget. A defeatist attitude, getting shockingly beat in the dry at qual, he should send his paycheck back. Maybe all the rain during the weekend is making him think of fishing, because its apparent, his mind is elsewhere.

Portions of this post are tongue cheek….

(aimed squarely at this morning's Rossi hater brigade who should know the only guy we are ALL allowed to mindlessly hate is Pedro).

J4rno, I have little to no respect for you. You're obviously a fairly intelligent guy. On occasion you have insightful contributions. But I've always known you to be a consummate card carrying yellow army mindless worshiping bopper. You're turncoat and betrayal of rooting for Rossi lately is quite repulsive. First and foremost, we as fans root for our boys through thick or thin, and most of our banter can be chalked up to tribalism of basic colors we wear for our boys….second to that is the interesting discussions we engage regarding all aspects of the sport. It seems this thread has turned into a ‘lets all kick Rossi while he’s down’ .... fest (which I get for the proper Stoner fans, as Rossi brought that on himself) but for his previously staunch fans, its nothing less than ugly .... on your face.

Jum, I told you many times -- you drink too much
<

Jum- Can I hate on Barbera? IT was almost pathetic how the guy was trolling around looking for a tow....

Yes. I noticed that. Wow, why not just pull over and pull up a sign with his thumb out: "Will work for tow."
<

Hate dude? I'm just peace and love.
<

Sorry but your Stoner analogy doesn't make any sense, Stoner is up there with the leaders a little bit off the pace, Rossi is the last among the MotoGP bikes and there is an abyss between his and his teammate's pace. That's simple and doesn't need too much logic. If Rossi was pushing hard he'd be up there at least in the 2nd row, like he did only 1 month ago on this same track, with same bike setup. The track conditions can be different but it's working for GP12 based on Hayden's lap times.

Rossi is making tantrum. Himself stated in Qatar, he wouldn't push any more for 6th or 5th places. Therefore, it's not me who's saying it.

Rossi wasn't at the top of the lap times during the test, Casey certainly was. Today he qualled in 5th. Casey dropped five spots to Rossi's eight from test to now. Shameful by your standard, not mine. Peace, love, and hate.

This being Stoner's least fav track - and the surface this morning being pretty unpredictable - I suspect that Stoner was not going all out to take pole. I think is especially likely because he didn't want to risk a crash in order to gain one more position on the grid when Lorenzo was so hot to fight him for it. All that... and the 80% chance of rain for the race tomorrow makes all qualifying victories pyrrhic and moot makes a good case for being conservative today and really going for it in the rain. ...

Wait wait, isn't Casey the guy who tries to dominate every practice session and qual without regard to pragmatics? Isn't this what Stoner fans have been telling us? Now suddenly he's pragmatic to contrast Rossi who has "quit"? The Stoner vs Rossi interpretation of their sudden and historically uncharacteristic approach don't quite jive for me my good friend.

All this Rossi vs Stoner ........ on here is ruining the forum. Let them sort it out for all of us on the track and let that do the talking.

excellent quali session but have a few things to say....

like i said lastime rossi is viewing sights and coasting around.... being a childish prk

he still has the skills but his motivation has fizzled away, he needs to take a leaf out of nicky book and stop fking crying and atleast try harder.

nicky been getting slapped in face for years but is still highly motivated thats why i love the guy.

rossi also needs to stop doing other things like driving ferrari's to feed his ego especially when hes doing .....! on the ducati....

he dont deserve updates right now just a good hard slap around the head and told to man up and get on with it.....

I agree but do not think the slap therapy would be effective -- Agostini (who knows by personal experience) said that when you are used to winning for years and then one day you run out of juice, it takes time before you can realize and accept it.

i meant he needs a slap for just riding round today.... trust me he could have gone a little quicker hes just doing it for early upgrades but i think instead hes just pissing people off, his outing today was a waste of fuel.

Liked. Good stuff. Seriously, though, I am proud of the work nicky has done. I heard Guareschi was in Nicky's garage? Hmmm...

I think the Rossi situation is simple. In his mind he has decided that he can not ride the bike. I agree with him too. The bike is not of a style that suits his style and he is simply not prepared or able to change style. If the bike is changed to complement his style he will be back, if not he won't.

Hayden on the other hand is more flexible in mind and style so has worked hard and found a way to ride the bike as have Barbera and Abraham.

Jum this is not hate it is just reality and we will all talk about it because it is Rossi.

I think the Rossi situation...

No worries, i just feel the Rossi hate was strong today. I used Stoner as a measure because either mans fall from expectation during qual was equally shameful--that is, NOT shameful. The apology for Stoners 5th was of equal logical level as declaring Rossi has quit or is playing games. Im sure u saw the body language from Rossi after qual, it depicted a man frustrated with his result and feeling bad for his crew who are all honestly hard at work. To accuse the man of less is of the same vein as accusing Stoner of lying about his troubles. Its chickenshit by thise throwing the darts.

Anyway, the race is still tomorrow right?
<

great session for Jorge, Dani and Cal! Not too mention Nicky! Stoner WTF? 1 second off the pace, in those conditions? Spies is also in all sorts of bother.

Speaking of bother......Rossi, I have been looking for some sort of logical explanation today from the pitbox in regards to what happened, but it doesn't seem to exist, Kropo- anything?

From an outside point of view it seems as though Rossi and his team are now not working well together at all. Something is seriously amiss for them to be that far back at this circuit. As i said at Qatar, its time for something serious to be done in that garage, as this is not the way talent like this (all of them) should be performing. I'm hoping for the best for them, as for now, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it does........looking back, Rossi Qualified over 3 seconds faster in 2009-2010, even 2 seconds quicker last year! The conditions of course are a little different-but not that much. What the hell is going on?

What will be the reaction if Vale is beaten in the race by a CRT?

I could probably predict it based on who is posting if such were to happen. See todays thread. Benidick Brutus J4rno will surely be part of the mob ready to kick a man when down. Ive never been a Rossi or Stoner fan in its classical sense, but how long will a man have to pay for past sins?

I don't think for a second that Rossi is purposely running badly. I don't think that's who Rossi is as a person. I think he has made up his mind he can't and nothing will change that until he tells himself he can or they change the motor because this is why he thinks he can't ride it.

IMO, a lot of his true fans, who are also big fans of the sport, are genuinely perplexed at the enigma that is this situation, and most suspect that there is something seriously amiss with this combination, that probably won't be fixed-ever, even with a new engine. I personally have not lost faith in Rossi, or his team, and the bike is better than this-Nicky..........however, no doubt many feel, as I do, that Valentino would have been much better off calling it a day with Yamaha, fighting for wins, and not being beaten by CRT's........and the worse they perform, the more attention they get, this one will not fade away into the distance like others have, Caparossi, Melandri etc. This will continue to be an implosion of epic proportions if the these results continue. I still think with the right circumstances they can do better, but it looks highly unlikely on this bike
