Gosh, Casey sucks at qualifying. He was in row 3 at Qatar, and was again in row 3 for Jerez.

Hmm.. that was not what Casey told us today:

" - there are plenty of other tracks and other races, starting with Portugal, where we went well last year and finished on the podium, even if we had some little problems, and where this year we will try to fight for victory."

Sounds like there might be a gap between his expectations and performance again. I can't remember the details of last year so I don't really know. Gonna check on MotoGP...
Edit:
Well, he was there during the whole race right beind Pedrosa and Rossi, and he was fastest in all fre practises. Doesn't look like somewhere he would strugle. Only difference is the temperature I guss.

-Is everbody done patting Pedrosa on the back.
He could possibly be the first world champion to never actually race anyone.
All I saw today was a guy running a series of fast laps around his home track with no obstacles.
He did nothing different today than he does in practice. We know he's a fast rider so what is surprising?
The guy weighs about as much as my left nut and is driving a 300 pound 250HP motorcycle and can't even get a wheelie more than 50 feet over the finish line. My daughter can get the front end of her Barbie bike up higher than that.
What was that masturbatorical gesticulating he was giving to Pooch on the way by his pit?

-What's all this Nicky did a great job BS everbody's giving him as well.
Today he got 13 points and his teammate got 25. What's good about that in the land of HRC?
Jerez is a track he's fast at all he can come up with is an uncontested 4th.
What's going to happen when he's at a track he's not fast at.
All he's done the last 2 weeks is solidify the arguement as to why he shouldn't be on that factory ride.
I love the guy but he's got to step up his game this year.
We know he's capable of running in the front pack but for once he's got to be beating those guys.

-Lorenzo's a prodigy but I suspect he's going to get slower before he gets faster. Look at most good riders rookie seasons. They are fast but they have to crash a bit before they fully figure it out. ( Rossi, Pedrosa, Stoner ) I think that 3 years ago Lorenzo would have been laying in the dirt saying what the .... just happened instead of his traction control kicking in and saving his highside today.

- Stoner I know you're the World Champ and all but you might want to look what you're doing when you're trying to scrub the gravel off your tires. You almost Guintolied someone coming back onto the racetrack.

-Toseland, Nice ride for someone who was running around with the AIDS kicking in.
Tell DeAngelis you want you're helmet back.

I'm sort of with you. Hayden should do better but he and Lorenzo made the same mistake. Both of them ran the same compound front and rear, Pedrosa ran a harder rear.

Nicky and Lorenzo struggled with god awful push all day long. The only thing Nicky did wrong was become fastest man on track, then nearly bin it. By lap 12 Nicky stabilized the gap then by lap 17 he was reeling Rossi and Lorenzo in by tenths a lap.

Hayden coming from behind?
<
It didn't quite work out in the end, but when the hell has Hayden ever come on late in a race? I'm puzzled and somewhat optimistic.

Sheesh Johnny.. have a bad day.
Stoner did too.

I don't quite get the Toseland/DeAngelis comment but ahh...
The race was a pretty fair one, especially since we had about an month off of GP action.

That .... is funny man.

Anybody wanna give their ideas on WTF happened on the last turn. It looked to me like Dovi totally missed. Toseland was following and realized about halfway through and tried to take advantage and then saw that someone had already spoken for that space (capi). JT then almost took him out, bounced back to the outside where Dovi had eneded up. If JT was a mean ..... he would have take out capi and taken 5th, but he avoided 2 crashes and took 6th. Pretty damn good riding IMO. Of course he could have made the apex and taken 5th but I don't get what all the bitching is about.

Once again I'll regurgitate my Qatar post. Another yawner at the front. I would have been happy to watch the 5th place battle the whole race then just tricked my mind into believing that it was for the podium spots. I was more excited during the NASCAR race today

What a ....!

I'd say he raced 17 other guys there the other day and raced them well.

So much so that he was miles infront.

How about this take out everyone but Hayden and Pedrosa at Jerez the other day and race just those two ....... whose fault are you saying it would be when Hayden was miles back ..... What Pedrosa cos to win the race he should have hung back and made it interesting? No .... same as it was for SToner last year the other riders need to step it up ....... thats racing ..... not hanging back to "duel for the cameras"

Capirossi"At the end it was a nice fight with James and with Dovizioso. It was good. James is perhaps a bit too aggressive, while everything was nice with Andrea, we fought all the way to the last turn and in the end I came out better."
He refeared to the last few laps not last turn exactly. My 2 cents.

I think the previous description was quite accurate. JT had the slowest bike on the grid and the only way to pass was to muscle his way through the turns. It's not a ballet dance but it sure is fun to watch.

I suspect Capi and Dovi both are of a different sort, but not any less boring. While JT's way somehow often end in a conclusion quite early the other two can ride side by side, turn after turn without paint swaping. Just like the eppic battles of Rossi and Capi. This has to do with attitude but also knowledge about your competitor.
I suspect we will see a soemwhat more careful JT next race with the new engine. He can do his passes the normal way and won't have to take the high risk it is when you bump into other riders.

Funny isn't it. Apparently having a superior pace and having the best riders in the world totally covered makes him less of a good rider.

Yep and I think they'll (Nicky fans) will keep on using this excuse for every race Dani beats Nicky, which probably will be every race except Laguna Seca and some rainy one.

Whats with all the whining about JT's pass. Watch it, Dovi totally screws up the entry putting him way wide on the exit, JT is already inside him on the exit, they barely touch. Dovi puts himself in a position to get smoked out of the corner. Good work from JT, 46 would driven Dovi into the wall to get that place. Fair enough pass.

Good point ......

At Qatar Dani was in the thick of it ...... ok he had a stuffed up hand but he still battled all the way even making a comeback after being overtaken by some of the best riders in the world.

When a rider gets out in front and dissappears thats the best ride ever ..... I was actually a bit pissed that they didn't show more of him cos he was riding like a demon from the snippets we did see.

But hey I'd rather watch 1 good rider lapping ad nauseum than several slower riders swapping places in the freight train. Horses for courses I guess.
