He had a much faster pace then anyone there last year.
I agree with you there, but he probably has to win at least two more races before that and not less than second on the third.
Hayden can do with 2nd rest of the races and win even if Rossi winn all of them and unless Perdrose win all of them, but it's not likly that Hayden will have much more than than a podium or two and Pedrosa will not win all the races. Out of all he is the nost likly one to make a misstake.
I had lost most hope for Rossi to win after the LS disaster, but with every one more or less uninjured and less freak incidents Hayden has a hard time clmbing to the podium and he end up on a more normal forth. That is about as good as he and his bike is right now.
The big joker here is Capirossi. If he can pull out more Bruno races from his hat hayden could still get away with the championship with only a podium or two.
I guess the ultimate thriller would be something like Hayden with a 4 point lead over Pedrosa and 8 over Rossi before Valencia. Problem is that it would probably create a team order. One way or the other HRC would never let Pedrose ride into second spot with Hayden right behind. In that situation Pedrosa would have to win or take third regardless of how favuored he is.
