I remember reading something about getting a ride on a GP bike behind a GP rider some time ago, not sure exactly when. You get 2 laps, 1 to acclimatise yourself to their speeds, 1 to get a heart attack when they go full out. I also remember something about a guy who rode behind Biaggi and came off the bike with a pale face.

I've been googling as best as I know how for the past year and still couldn't find anything.

Did I imagine this .... up?

Ducati also exhibits a GP bike with tandem seats and grab bars on the tank for pillions during the Japanese GP so I know at least such a bike exists.

Personally, I WOULD pay to ride behind a pro racer, GP or SBK or even the Japanese GP. I know I would never have the skills/balls to get up to those speeds but I want to experience it at least once. I get this tingling in my heart whenever I watch the onboard videos of those machines at full lean.

at miller (wsbk) this year they were offering this. for 75$ you could have gone out doubled up. I wanted no part of this unless im in control of the bike i want no part of it, id be scared shitless i dont care if Rossi offered me a ride around Laguna on his m1 id still say no (id probably $h!T my pants)
Id have more fun riding it myself even if i never took it out of 2nd gear

It's not Riders for Health. They are sponsoring dayofstars.org, which doesn't include rides but does let you meet Mamola.

Also, for those riding with their hero on Saturday you'll never catch up. Please don't crash trying. It's disheartning, but even Canepa and Takahashi are BLAZING fast. When the worst guys are 3 seconds off pace, they are going faster than Ben Spies or the top WSBK bike and it's hard to notice over a 3 mile circuit. I didn't really have enough respect for the speed of GP until I was trackside at Motegi (a slow circuit). Elias and Edwards, who finished way down the order, were going so fast I almost vomited for them. That said, I'd love to ride with Randy M, but it's like 3 grand.

Randy has been doing two lap blasts on the two seater Duc around Donny for a few years. You used to be able to bid for it on the Riders for Health website auction. He used to do it on Friday and Saturday with perhaps 5 people who bid the most at auction.

You can bid for this at the day of champions (the thursday before) at the british gp and I think it's the top 5 bids all get 2 laps as pillion on a 990 desmosedici with Mamola riding and he always does a rolling stoppie at the end of your 2nd lap.

Incredible wealth of info, you guys are incredible!

Does this happen at every round or only particular circuits?

Managed to find an article on Roadracer X regarding the Ducati 2-up ride for Donnington this year, but no direct link to any auction site for the tickets. The ROH website's auction page doesn't have anything about the ride either, only paddock passes.

Couldn't find any information about the 2-up ride for Miller SBK too. $75 is cheap!

I have video of Randy riding 2 up on raceday at Laguna Seca. Let me see if I can upload it to youtube or something.

Its about a 5 second clip lol. But he has the front wheel off the ground and hes going flat out.

Its normally on the Riders auction page. Perhaps it aint happening this year.
From looking at the last 4 or 5 years, you need to be bidding between £1500 and £2000 to get a sniff of a couple of laps with Randy. I am sure in the past that they also provide with a set of leathers which you can keep.

It happens at almost every event I think.

Theres 2 dukes this year - however usually its celebs on the back shitting themselves.

Randy Momola rides bike 1, not too sure on number 2.

Alonsos been on the back, and many other A-Z list celebs.
