I appreciate a straight shooter, but ....... son.

You leave Ducati in a huff , now you feel like sometimes you wish you were somewhere else come raceday. Do you just not get that saying .... like this is detrimental to your relationship with the current team, or you just dont give a ..... I said when he left he had ...... up, going to a bike that guaranteed no shot of winning for a 5th the money. On top of that he never gave Gigi a chance to put a competitive bike under his dumb .... Jesus its hard to like this guy.

Crutchlow: ?I was like the Alonso of MotoGP"

"When I left everything started to go good!" Right. Thats because they replaced you with a rider that didn't have a mild case of down syndrome. I think you are right prov.

I understand why Cal left Ducati when he did it was midway through the season IIRC he had a couple mechanical issues that resulted in DNFs and one that Caused him to injure himself. However I agree he should've played the long game, he was never going to replace Pedrosa/Marquez/Rossi/Lorenzo, Ducati was the place where he could make good money and have a chance(even though small) of winning a race.

He should have gotten one those WWNH69D bracelets.

I know why he thinks he left, but i will never understand the thinking. Cal lets his emotions overload his thought process and more or else admits it So he had some mechanical issues that no one blames him for, but talks himself out of Ducati to go to an underfunded sattelite team. Now he has a gremlin in his electronics and wish's he was somewhere else. If i were signing his checks, i would make his wish come true. Who knows, maybe he has been approached by another team and he is trying to get .... canned to get out of his contract.

But I seem to recall that when he left Ducati he said something along the lines of having seem Gigi's plans for the GP15 and said it wasn't much good?

I hope that's what he said, because that's hilarious.

Main reason I find it hard to cheer for the guy. He just birches and moans about everything.

I like how he says he has 'moved' to other teams at wrong time. He QUIT the teams. Especially Ducati. After whining and crying that he deserved a 'factory' ride, he gets a 2 year contract, then weaseled his way out of it by quitting months after year 1.

He said he's like Alonso, yeah minus the winning part. Because both are whining crying bitching .........

Alan Jones reckons Alonso has the type of demeanor that could incite a riot in a phone booth.

For journeyman Cal, Ducati was his chance to grab the brass ring. That was my thought at the time: that's as good as it gets for him. Maybe after the testosterone fog clears in his brain he might realise it as well.

He doesn't get particularly good results (when he isn't binning it) Flits team to team without slipping down into Aprilia territory. Yet he doesn't appear to have any major personal sponsors or obvious backing
Who is paying for him? The UK tv rights holders? Dorna?

Cal should pay close attention to Nicky. Nicky was never going to get another quality ride in GP. Instead of realizing that and taking a solid SBK offer, he hung on for 2 additional season until his SBK options were limited. Cal's GP career is winding down, he needs to immediately begin organizing an effort to place himself on a quality SBK ride and make the transition while he's still healthy and has a modicum of name recognition.

I like Cal but I think his attitude has cost him a great deal. He's older, largely unsuccessful and doesn't seem to play the game very well. SBK is calling.

Great thread title btw Pov. I read the article earlier in the day and as soon as I read your title I know what you were referring to.

I think this was it Jums, here is the article:

MotoGP Feature - MotoGP: Cal Crutchlow: Trading places

And here is the quote I was referring to:

“Gigi [Dall'Igna, Ducati Corse general manager] is doing a great job, but he's only just come in. He's had so many things to change but I think he's done a good job of changing things as and when he has. But again they are already behind with regards to next year's bike compared to the other teams.”

But history will show the GP15 was better than the satellite Honda RCV :giggle:

Cal spent too much time schmoozing with Rossi whilst he was at Tech3, even going so far as selling his clothing through him a la Marquez. He also seemed to enjoy Marquez beating Jorge too much too, obviously another move to ingratiate himself to the golden one.
This year is a big year for Crutchlow, if he doesn't get results he could be struggling for a ride now Scott and Brad are both solidly ensconced in MotoGP, as said before Dorna definitely had a hand in keeping a Brit in the mix.

He's ........ alright, and he's got something wrong with his arms,it started when he managed to get a couple of 3rd places when he was with tech 3,ever since then he would be waving his arms in the air if anybody dared to be on the same piece of track during practice,i don't know why he would be bothered about grid position and setting a fast lap anyway cos the .... is only going to chuck his bike in the gravel once the race starts.
