Is anyone in here a Suzuki fan?

Well this is really not a technical thread. But here is the situation.

I freaking love Suzuki, for superficial reasons (I reckon their MotoGP looks gorgeous), for historic reasons (two words: Kevin Schwantz), for nostalgic reasons (I grew up riding motocross on Suzuki 65s and later 85s) and I think Davide Brivio is both a Sir and a professional which makes me like their team even more.
Yeah they got Iannone and that is not cool but hey, who doesn't have a minus?

The list of reasons why I love this brand is longer but I legitimately understand this is not a blog :D

So I figured, whether* it'll get attention or not, this thread could be a place to talk about Suzuki. I therefore switch the title question to y'all: is anyone in here a Suzuki fan?

*FUN FACT: since English is not my native language I am at times unsure on how to spell words. I googled how to spell "whether" which I originally spelled "wether", and found out a wether is a male sheep with no balls. So my English knowledge just increased and who I gotta thank? Suzuki.

I loved many of their two strokes.

TM125 .... sounded like a mozzy on the beach.

Always wanted one of those 125 Stinger twin engines. Never got one.

Had an RM370. like a clumsy giant lawnmower engine in a bike.

Had an RGV250 in race trim as a fun bike. Didnt like seeing the engine cos of its wierd config.

But Ive never really lusted over any of their four strokes.

Had a TS50ER as a 16 year old. Graduated to a GT125 Twin at 17, man that engine screamed, the pistons were like two little cotton reels flying up and down.
Finally had a 1980 GT250X7, fitted the obligatory micron pipes and k&n filters and it flew.
A couple of years later I got a 1982 RD350LC and my love affair with Yamaha’s was born...
I loved each of my Suzukis too though, even have a key from every bike in my collection [emoji1]

Also had the 82 RD350. Wore it out and had to sell it to pay a huge phone bill. Haha

That was my last street bike, actually. Had an H2 before that. 750 2 stroke. Loved it.

But the greatest street bike I ever road was my brothers 1980 GS1100. Suzuki!!

I don't know how I survived those years.

Thanks for sharing your Suzuki stories :) loved reading them.

Btw rumor has it the Marc VDS Team might become the second Suzuki team in MotoGP. Honestly that'd be awesome I reckon

Love them, started with the Kevin Schwantz bike, then the big Temple Auto Salvage Gixxers ridden by Dave Jefferies and Adrian Archibald through to the Relentless Suzuki ridden by Anstey and Cam Donald.

I like the XR69 replicas as well

I think Davide Brivio is both a Sir

It would have to be the Italian equivalent as "Sir" is an honorary title only here for foreigners.
I think he's a really nice team manager and now he's got a couple of decent riders they'll do better, just a shame there's no satellite team.

I had an RGV250 that I raced(poorly) and loved it. Once I'm more stable I would love to get another one and go racing again.

In Italian we use the word "Signore" which literally means "Sir" :D

It's used to describe a grown man who is particularly polite and professional in his ways of talking and behaving.

Oh, there will be a Suzuki satellite team, believe me :)

That'd be great. I know the Suzuki isn't at the level on the Honda but it's definitely a better package than the satellite Honda they've been getting.

Exactly. Several articles popped up today on the Italian sports-media and they all basically say exactly that. I haven't seen anything in english yet but I'm sure they'll come soon too.
