This part alone confirms for me how serious Spies is with racing and how serious he is about getting to MotoGP. He's stated before that MotoGP is his goal, he's going to want to get there asap. He puts everything he's got into his racing, and it shows.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Q Would you say that you've spent more time with House' this year than you had the previous five years?

A Yeah, for sure. We live in the same house. It's been good. Now he understands how serious I take racing, when he sees me, how my training is, and how, just everything I do for it. He knows why, and what I've been able to do, it's not just because of talent, it's because I work my ... off, too. I give 100% to racing, and when I retire, I'm done. Still, I'll enjoy watching it and stuff, but I'm definitely not going to be the rider that looks back and says that, "I wish I would've done this, and I wish I would've done that, or I could've done this if I would've done that." I just don't have any sympathy when I hear stories like that, so I put everything I got into it. If it doesn't go right, it's because of luck, or things like that. Or I wasn't fast enough to do it. But it's not, never going to be excuses of, "Oh, if I would've trained a little harder I could've done this," or I wouldn't be able to - I'd be losing sleep, after I retired, looking back. So I just keep working on it.

I can think of one rider that may be thinking this. Starts with an M and ends with a N. And has a LADI in the middle of it.

I really dont think he will, there were so many opportunities for him to go and he said no everytime. If that thought comes up,he can still get a seat anytime he wants in WSBK. I do believe Spies is gone,he says something about ironing out minute details for next year and that sounds like something new.Or it could be ironing out his pay raise to stay in WSBK for another year.

I read where this weekend is when Toseland is rumored to be getting the news that his services will not be needed for next year .There are 6races lef after this weekendt in Gp and 3 of them are on weekends where WSBK doesnt run.Would Yamaha risk the sbk title to get Spies some seat time on the Gp bike in those 3 races. Looking at the schedule again, the last race in GP is after sbk season ends.so that could easily be done at least for one race

Doubtful they would risk it. However good point about the last GP, that's always a possibility.

Good interview. Looks like Fabrizio has been forgiven. Fabrizio has gone out of his way to apologize and Ben has accepted the apology.

Agreed Junkie. He had his chances to step up. Spies ain't gonna miss out thats for sure.

Great 3rd part to the interview. Interesting insight he makes about how guys will be really fast in the practice sessions but come race time, cant keep the pace. Also interesting what he said about how sometimes he comes in say 9th in the practice sessions and people start to wonder if he is having issues, but in reality he knows everything is just fine.

Spies had some nice things to say about Fabio, but also threw in there that Fabio needs to wise up a bit in regards to racecraft.
