No lie. When I checked into my hotel, the manager greeted me with two beers. Crazy ..... Best hotel experience ever!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Traverser @ Sep 12 2008, 11:06 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Jumkie, are you meeting up with anyone from the forum? Did you go by yourself?
Dude, met up with Frosty. I greeted him with a beer around noon and we didn't stop drinking all day! He bought me beers left and right. We got seriously buzzed. We hung out all day, walked around the facilities. Frosty is a cool cat. I will post more about him later. We talked about everything under the sun. I must say, this forum is a fantastic place. I've made three life long friends. I'll post a pic later.

(BTW I PMed you)

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Traverser @ Sep 12 2008, 05:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Sorry guys. They got in touch.
Its cool. No sweat man. Thanks for thinking of us on those tix. Disregard my PM then. No worries. Or keep the info when you come out to Cali, you got a place to crash there.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (mylexicon @ Sep 12 2008, 07:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Thanks for the pics, Jumk. Have fun! Slap a Rossi-bopper for me.
<

And there are plenty here to slap. Geez, nothing like a few wins and another championship to get them out of the caves they hid in for the last two years.

Actually Lex, I'm saving my backhands for the Peders fans, of which I haven't seen any yet thank God.

Reporting from Indy:

Couldn't sleep last night. Got up early and went to the track. Met up with Frosty and started drinking all day. The weather is great; that is if you compare it to the UK; otherwise, its ....... Lucky my seats are covered. Fing globalwarming is a mofo.

Ok, here are a few pics to entertain you:
4687:Jumkie_Frosty.JPG]
Frosty is a high roller. He came down from the Lear Jet Pagoda where he was getting FREE beers to meet me down with the little people. But I made good, the first thing I said was Hi man, I'm Jumkie, here is a beer for you. The rest of the day we had a beer in hand. Super cool dude. We talked about everything under the sun. Funny .... cuz our conversation didn't skip a beat, it was like being on the forum. As if we were friends from a long time ago. Fantastic place this forum! Frosty is solid. We got so blasted that we could not drive back. We ended up being passengers and as they gave me a ride back to my hotel since neither of us were in any condition to drive. GOOD TIMES.

Ok, here are some track side pics. But let me put this disclaimer. I don't have a telephoto lens and high speed low drag semi-profession camera like Roger. Also, I'm in the cheap seats. You will see what I mean when Frosty gets around to posting his pics. Damn, talk about rubbing shoulders with the le creme. Make sure you ask kid Frost to post his pics, VIP all the way.

Ok, here is the front straight (from my seat). As you can see its all gray and raining a bit. This was very early, just after the gates opened. Perfect UK weather as you can see. .....
4688:Front_straight.JPG]

But let me tell you, being at a MotoGP event is like sunshine all the time. And as you can see, my first rider pic is of Nicky--the greatest rider/legend/GOAT ever. (Not counting wins, titles, and such, of course...) Check out the cool reflection. Its like ice.
4689:Nicky.JPG]
BTW, Hayden didn't look very comfortable. I actually spoke with his dad (see last pic) and he said he really screwed up the heal. Broke bones in very bad places. He said it is a 12 week injury, but trying to come back in 4. Sucks.

Here is one for the Rossi-bobbers (JK, Rossi is the man...Uccio is his .....).
4690:Vale_spray.JPG]

Here is one for the Stoner fans. BTW, he crashed pretty nasty today. Looks like he might have re-injured that hand. He was holding it around the paddock. Sucks.
4691:Du_Duc.JPG]

Here are some misc shots

4693:Du_Hon.JPG]
4694:Back_3.JPG]
Toes leading the pack (well not really) but here is one for the Brits.
4695:Front_3_Toe.JPG]

Ok, stop for a moment. I've been thinking about the end of the world. And you know what, it might happen on Sunday. Can this man win?
4696:West.JPG]

I've been accused of hating on Peders, but look, I even took a pic of him.
4697:ped_stray.JPG]

Ah, the 125s & 250s are in town. I must admit, I am very impressed. Damn, I sure wish they would come to Laguna. Geez, I can't think of a better track for this class. (I took several pics, but I don't want to wear out my welcome on this thread, so I'll post the minimum).
4698:250s1.JPG]

Check this out, I took this pic right as Kalio went down. Look at the face of the other rider. (Keep in mind, I have a point and shoot digital camera, have you ever tried to take an action shot with one of these? Its near impossible. You have to click the damn thing before the bikes are in the view finder and hope the .... snaps in time as the rider goes by).
4699:Kalio_down1.JPG]
4700:Kalio_down2.JPG]

Now lets turn our attention to the future of motorcycle racing. The rookies cup from the Americas will compete against the rookies cup from Euro/Asia. My money is on this kid (if its dry). His name is Benito Solis Jr. 13 years old. #35. He is leading the points. The kid is nails.
4701:Benni_Solis.JPG]
4702:Rookies_Du_line.JPG]
4703:Rookies_du.JPG]

That is all for now. Hope you enjoyed. Will get a few more tomorrow.

Even the Aussie's hate it. I knew that stuff was ...., now proof that even the people it is made by can'tstand it.

Probably got it at the Stoner table.e They were giving you ..... beer from a ..... rider.

I wouldn't drink it even then. Do you know anybody who does drink it in australia? Southcorp didn't cop much criticism when they wisely sold the offshore rights to overseas interests.

To be fair, I drank it a bit when I was in England because it was the cheapest drink on tap in a number of places. I've never had one here, cause it's catpiss.

You are absolutely correct in your assessment of fosters. However, admirable though I found both michigan and anywhere in canada I have been in general, I have to say the local beers were not among the highlights.
