Indy USGP 2008

Reporting from Indy:

What's up kids. Spent most of the day getting here. After I checked in I went into downtown to get a bite to eat. Ate at some joint called Alcatraz. As I was walking around I saw some rather interesting street signs.

Here is downtown at night. (Capital Circle: Indianapolis is the capital of the State of Indiana)

BTW, something interesting happened as I was walking along the streets, I ran into Marco Simoncelli. Funny ..... The dude looks like a clown with that hair. Nice guy, said hello. Kept walking, didn't have time to take a pic.

Anyway, here are some street signs that I think you'll find interesting.

I got to tired to keep walking around aimlessly, so I didn't see all the rest. But it looks like they have signs for all former AMA & MotoGP champs. I that that was pretty classy of the city to do this. Signs are everywhere announcing the GP event. Redbull has this big ... tent in city square. They had some rappers there on stage. Don't know who they are, something about a Dogg and Snoopy or something like that.

well done Indianapolis hope peeps take note and fill the place up over the weekend

Your in the Midwest Jumkie. There is only two things we are good at. Football and drinking. Be careful and do not trash Hoosier basketball either. That could get you into a whole hell of trouble.

Lived there two summers ago. Not a whole much to do outside the track. Sat night, if your into stock car short track racing, go to the Indianapolis Speedrome for some Figure-8 racing. Good .... there and only a few bucks gets you a ticket.

Another thing.

Go to the Classy Chassy. The infamous Strip Club that Al Unser Jr. had just left before beating up his girlfriend. It should be on all racing fans travel plans when visiting the city.

Race car driver. He won a bunch of races in the late 80's and early 90's and become a drunk and women beater. A nobody other that the butt of jokes and a big name. 300ish Indy car starts, 40 wins, two championships. Tested F1 a bit, but wasn't fast and enough a overweight to race.

Jumkie, are you meeting up with anyone from the forum? Did you go by yourself?

Unser's were kind of big in Albuquerque NM. I think it was in the late 70's, good old jr. got busted by the city police driving one of daddy's race cars around town. He was never fast
