Imola WSBK Test

Michele Fabrizio
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>“On the last lap I put on a new tyre to set my time, one of the development tyres that Pirelli brought along for this extreme heat” declared Fabrizio. “We worked a lot on the set-up, something we’ve never managed to do really well during the championship, and we worked on the traction control to try and get the best out of the engine in view of Brno. I really wanted to prove to Ben that I’m right there with him. There are still five rounds left and I think he realizes that by now!”

Ben's probably chuckling to himself.

Fagbrizio's weak attempt at head games.

It matters not.
There will be a late surge by the brits and leon haslam will win the championship after a desperate last corner pass by Fabrizio takes out spies and haga for the remainder of the season.
Hey, I can dream cant I?

Then again, whats the chances of Fabrizio being anywhere near Spies on the last corner?
Damn, my plan seems doomed to fail

Max Neukirchner out again, fractured vertebrae. I really like the guy, solid racer and could have been a contender this year. Good chance he will be out the rest of the season, I wonder who Suzuki will put in his place? Come on Mladin, stop hiding.

Brilliant!

...... news about Neuker. He's by far the nicest guy on the grid with talent to run with the front two guys. Two of his season ending injuries have not been his fault (and I could argue neither was this one since its probably rustiness that caused it directly linked to that Monza pile up). This guy is THE MOST UNLUCKY RIDER IN THE WORLD!

Hopper fast .... but.... still more troubles for the guy:

Quote MotoGPMatters:

"John Hopkins finished the day sixth fastest, but the American was in some trouble. A near highsider on Wednesday afternoon left the American in pain during the night, and after riding in pain during the Thursday morning session, Hopkins decided to have an X ray done to see if he had caused any more damage to his leg. The X ray revealed that calcium was not building up correctly around the bones injured in his hip, and his doctors in the US diagnosed osteoporosis after receiving the X rays by email. The injury leaves Hopkins in doubt for next weekend's Brno round of World Superbikes: If Hopkins decides to ride and crashes, the consequences of a crash could be much more severe. "

Actually I think that Hopper might be the MOST UNLUCKY RIDER EVER.

I like Hopper, but the dude is just crash happy. He seems to have a hard time knowing the limits. He often crosses the line instead of bending it. Gotta be frustrating.

Spies taking it easy??

Rea...WOW

I hear you doubting Thomas. You wanna know why I think the test time don't mean much?

Here's a couple of reasons.

1. Fagbrizio is treating test like its qual.
2. BMW in the top 10.

I hear you. What I think is he's had a couple bad crashes, and his body has never been the same since. Now any little anomaly turns into a season ending injury.

That seems to be the way it goes for a lot of these "tests", it's just another race, all be it time trial style, for most of these guys. I will say though, the top 11 guys are within a tenth or two of each other, pretty close.

+1
From the way I read it, he didn't crash at Imola, rather he probably had a bad tank slapper that shook him around and messed up his hip/leg bones that were still healing from the Assen incident. Honestly, I can't believe some of the stuff these guys have to deal with, they're some real tough .......s to carry on. I do know this, I'm willing to guess most of these guys are going to be serious pain killer addicts when they are old men, due to all the old injuries.
