i see your point if it were say hayden as he was well nown for using #69 so it wouldnt be odd to still wear that even tho he was now caretaking the #1 plate. but im sure a doohan fan would not have worn a #3 doohan shirt when he is now the champ using the # 1 plate.

interesting fact above that doohan started out using the #27 plate

i think i'd sooner have the no.1 on my bike but if i didnt win the title the following year, i dont think i could cope with having to take it off. im pretty sure i'd grow too attached to it!

Well I guess the silver lining for Rossi fans is they can still wear their #46 t-shirts they bought 3 years ago.

I would take the Number 1 plate if i wasn't famous aka Stoner.

I noticed Stoner has a small 27 as part of his #1 design ..... anyone know if thats how he is keeping it?? ..... because an earlier design I saw had a #1 shaped like a stylized Roo.

This is quite difficult to argue against or take offence at, in that it is actually true .
