The other night I was thinking, the MotoGP calendar could be sooo much more interesting.. naturally, I find myself bored at college, supposed to be doing my finance assignment.. soooo..

Heres my calendar
<

1st. USA, Laguna Seca (with lots and lots of promotion)
2nd. South Africa, Kyalami (Kyalami can run bikes can't it?
<
)
3rd. Turkey, Istanbul
4th. Italy, Mugello
5th. France, Le Mans (Although it could really do with updating)
6th. The grand prix i haven't yet figured out a name for.. will obviously be Cinzano backed, Nurburgring (A remake of the old, 14 mile one but safer with more run-off.. I can dream
<
)
7th. European GP (Alternates between Jerez, Brands Hatch, Magny-Cours and Monza)
8th. China, Shanghai
9th. Japan, Motegi
10th. Germany, Sachsenring (or maybe Hockenheim?)
11th. Britain, Donington
12th. Holland, Assen
13th. Bahrain, that stupid F1 track they use (better than boring Qatar)
14th. Portugal, Estoril
15th. Isle of Man (Thats right, the isle of man.. doesnt douglas have an airfield? Turn it into a racetrack, maybe use it as public roads for the rest of the year.. making it MotoGP's own 'Monaco')
16th. San Marino, Misano
17th. Belgium, Spa-Francorchamps (obviously with a few modifications.. seeing them go through eau rouge would be awesome)
18th. Malaysia, Sepang
19th. Australia, Phillip Island
20th. Spain, Catalunya

As you can see it's a little bit crackpot

I like the current calendar, the only thing that pisses me is to wake up early to watch the races in Japan and Australia.

We need Suzuka back.
As well as another American race on the East Coast.
Only problem is most American tracks suck.
Road America would be nice though.

Agreed we could do with it instead of Motegi, but they really need to sort it out after 2003.

Birmingham raceway its new its good its awesome!!!

I'd love to see Brands on the calendar but I'd also like to see any desert rounds removed as they don't even follow it there, I think Qatar had a 5000 attendance on raceday! Not enough by far & unlikely to improve by much. & Spa, that would be awesome, a real racers track!

sadly enough .... Suzuka will more than likely never make a return.

too much work has to be done to the track and its surround in order to pull it up to the basic safety standard. They require more runoff for some of the turns which all is land that they can't afford.

dont hold your breath on it.

I think the number was closer to 3000. But that's not what's keeping it there. It's those stupidly rich oil princes in the persian golf who like to blow thier money on motorsport. When they try to do it themselves they .... it up (See A1 GP under "cage racing") so they just pay Dorna a ton of money to have a round of a good world championship in thier backyard.
