Iannone Plotting Return

Iannone is pursuing various strategies to determine if a return to MotoGP or WSBK is possible

I've always viewed his four year suspension as a grotesque perversion of judiciary proceedings, a perversion that has brought great satisfaction to the FIM and its partners, who were apparently testing the degree to which a competitors civil rights could be violated in the name of a noble pursuit.

The court's wanton authoritarianism, particularly their attempt to suppress appeal, betrayed the weakness of their position, and their desperation to get competitors to accept initial punishment without question. This was particularly horrific considering Iannone's use of anabolic steroids was primarily driven by the FIM's and Dorna's refusal to implement a bike-rider minimum weight.

I suspect Iannone is fighting a losing battle. He will never be given enough monetary power to pursue a civil case for damages, and the FIM and Dorna will probably head him off at the pass by making his FIM license and or salary subsidy dependent upon waiving his rights to sue for damages.

Anyway, the guy is a nut, but I hope he can salvage something in 2024, when he is able to return to FIM competition.
