I have some awesome news to tell you all. I had a nice chat with my Mum today about possibly going to watch Moto GP racing at Donington Park next year and she said yes I can go now but I am only going there for the Sunday. Better than not going at all but at least it will be worth it. I am so looking forward to the 2008 season of Moto GP already. I am squeaking like a little girl about it.

Because I have work on Friday and Saturday I have to get an hotel which costs a lot of money and I am not really a fan of camping.

I will be there next year to.
Since 2004 Ive been to one GP a year, normally with mates and we get drunk and party hard.

In 2008 i have promised to take my 5 Year old son. No more hard party. But it will be worth it to see his reaction when they roar past schwantz curve !!!!

I never been to a Motor bike race before. This is going to be my first time there. I just can't wait to go down there but I am going on my own but it beats sitting at home watching it on T.V. The only racing I have seen is car racing not bikes. I really want to experence how loud the Moto GP bikes are and also what it is really like to be at a Bike race.

top tip

if you want a hotel for night then the Thistle is best for drinking with the stars.

they can do a one nighter but its a bit pricey.

stay at the travel lodge down the road and go to the hotel bar for the night, its open to non residents and costs just a fraction of the cost.

walkable from the travel lodge or a cheap taxi.

see ya there

dont worry your never on your own, people are nice and freindly with always a beer in hand

Go to one of the practice days of BSB at donington this season, you can have a look around and decide where you might want to be when you see the GP boys. It will be quite cheap and help put perspective on the rediculous speed that motogp offers.

If you'd gone to Donington a couple of weekends ago you'd have bumped into Melandri chilling out at the MotoX GP

awesome man, bet ur looking forward to it?
was my first motogp this year or my first i remember, apparently dad used to take me when i was in my pushchair. anyway, i've been to world superbikes and bsb, but gps man are ace. went last year for friday cus i had to work the rest of the weekend and my dad really wanted to see the 990s before they became consigned to history. was awesome. hearing the ducati accelerate outta coppice while we were walking up the hill from the car park will stay with me forever.

anyway went for race day this year, even though it rained i loved every second of it. hearing the bikes being fired up in the pits before warm up or the race sends shivers down ur spine.

u ever been donington before?
if not, my tip is to stand at the old hairpin, u get to see the bikes come down craner curves then disappear under starkeys bridge i believe its called.

anyway mate, whatever u do hope u have an awesome day. might even see u there.

Another tip;

Get there before the start of the 250s, you'll find an awful lot of people only go for the 800s, so chances are you'll be able to find a better vantage point if you head down early, obviously...

Phil

I defently will watch the 250 class as well as the 125 and of course the 800 class. I can't wait for this day to come for me. To answer Craig's question yes it is going to be my first time down at Donington. I was achelly planning to sit there as well as the Craner Curves area. Not many people can say that they have been to watch Moto GP and F1 all in the same year which will happen to me next year but my mum pays for F1 while I pay for Moto GP.
