Since Tom Sykes is racing on his home track and has shown he can run up front there [ 2nd last year as a wildcard] What would he do if it came down to him and Spies for the win. If he was in 2nd, would he go balls out for a bonzai pass and risk wrecking his teamamte and ruining his title chase. If he was leading, would he race Spies hard if Spies was faster and went for a pass. I wouldnt expect him to pull over or anything like that if he was 1/2 a second in the lead but also wouldnt expect him to try anything foolish and take out his championship contending teammate. What i would really like to see is Sykes Haslam and Byrne and the BSB wildcard Yamaha boys run some interference and finish ahead of Haga and Spies win both races. If it rains, you could see an all British podium and maybe even an all British top 5 the way those cats seem to be able to fly in the wet.

I guess it depends whether or not Sykes has seen Estoril 2006.

The season is long and people are fighting for jobs as much as podiums and points.....so I would expect every rider to go for it.....even if it means he might have to punt another rider, even you teammate.....

Would Spies not try as welll?

All i know is that it will be two very interesting races with some interesting front runners. Lets not forget Rea aswell.

Yeah - let's not forget Johnny

B)

Lets not forget Kiyo who won here last year. And Byrne who is damn fast around this track.

To answer the question whether there is team orders in place, I would say no. I would also say that Sykes is not a hard racer. He is a smart racer and finishes races, he won't do anything stupid and nor will Spies.

Fabrizio is the one to worry about IMO.

ha ha

Smiffy is like Troy Corser - he's the perfect superpole rider

With a clear track in fornt of him it's goodnight sweetheart but if he's in the thick of it,
and getting his feathers ruffled - he's dead in the water

Moto2 is going to change things drastically next year. It will be interesting to see all the 125 guys like Smith, who would normally be moving up to 250's, on 600 4 strokes. Of course Smith could stay in 125's but I thought I read somewhere he was moving to a Martinez run Moto2 team?

Moto2 could very well attract a lot of well seasoned supersport riders from around the world and give some of these youngsters some serious competition. I'm hoping it ends up being the best moto racing in the world, key word here being hope.
