With the recent events and obvious crazy attention on the Valencia race, this topic will probably be hotter in the off season. But I figured what the hell....

A few articles that I've read lately on Crash.net and The Soup point out that with the Dani crash, the Repsol garage next year will be struggling to develop their new 800cc machine with the obvious bad blood between Puig/Dani and Hayden.

Obviously, if Hayden wins, this might be a mute point (or maybe not) but if Rossi beats Hayden to the title, clearly Pedrosa will never be forgiven by Hayden or many fans.....and that type of bad blood will not foster good teamwork next year.

What does everyone think?

thats a very interesting point... i guess we have to wait for valencia on sunday to see what will happen

(Assuming Hayden loses) I think Hayden can forgive Pedrosa enough for an.... efficient working environment. I don't think they'll ever be friends, but the Mafia (HRC) Has a way of getting things done. It's in Nicky's best intrests to make it work, because if they're still not working together at the end of 2007 and HRC has to fire one to satisfy the other, you can garuntee they won't be firing Dani. Sorry to hijack your topic, Doc, but how vital is Puig to Pedrosa? I think HRC might start seeing him as a liability soon. Especially if he keeps nurturing the rupture between the two riders.
On the upside, for us devoted Kawa/Zook/Duc/Yama fans, it would be entertaining to watch HRC squirm as the result of an internal ..... fight.

But that won't happen. They'll never let it happen. They've got too many recourses. Whether Hayden and Dani can work together or not, the Hondas will be fast. (Hell, they built the whole 800 without any input from the riders. Methinks HRC just need those guys to make the thing go fast)

Good point Doc. It''ll definitely be an issue, how big will depend on how Valencia pans out. Rico's right about HRC, they don't give a .... about either guy, they just want to get the title back from Yamaha so Pedrosa and Hayden will have to do what they're told no matter what, they know it too.

In light of all this . sounds great a ..... fight. maybe nicky should have taken the yamaha deal . had he known dani would pull a stunt like he did and he loses the championship. he may think he should have also. and tell honda and dani to kiss his ... and work with rossi to dominate it all. in the new class.

Hi Doc 80, its the kid. Interesting question you pose. Well I think it depends if Honda learned their lesson about offering some guidance to their young riders. I do blame pedrosa for his crash. But I can't help but think that perhaps Honda didn't offer guidance to pedrosa and allowed Puke (I meant Puig) to give him advice that I think proved to be disastrous. Both riders are awesome, and both scored some wins amongst a very competitive field of riders. I think that Honda originally thought that pedrosa would be their best chance at recapturing the title, but it turned out to be Hayden that was the better rider; and Honda unfortunately did not realize this until it was too late. So to answer your interesting question, I think both riders are eager to win and are also professionals, but they are also young men that need guidance. I’ve been a little privy of seeing Hayden’s family go about their business in regards to racing here in the U.S., and I would say they are a humble and professional group that has stayed focused on winning. I haven’t really followed pedrosa that nearly, but I must say that a lot has come out since his crash. And I did read what Puig had to say about the incident, which I think was completely ridiculous (he said it was Hayden’s fault for breaking too soon). So if this is the guy who is whispering in pedrosa’s ear, then I would say, yes, there are gonna be problems. But will those problems keep them from being civil? I think it will depend on how successful the team is at taking charge and guiding their young riders. There is a saying, “Winning is a great painkiller.” As far as Hayden forgiving pedrosa, if it were me, I don't think so; but I would say people have forgiven others for greater crimes, and so what I've learned about Hayden's humbleness it wouldn't be out of his character to let bygones be bygones. I hope they find a way to work together (for Hayden's sake) something that I think pedrosa failed to do this season.

I hope you're right about this even IF Rossi wins the championship...and I say "IF" because I'm not counting Hayden out and never have.

As a fan, you speak of Hayden as if you knew him like he was your own brother or as if you were him. I may be just misunderstanding you, but I really hope you're right about your statement if Rossi were to win the championship.

unlike Rossi and Edwards, Hayden and Pedrosa have different riding styles... just look at their rear brakes! I doubt they will be much of a teammate to each other as before the Estoril accident as they will next season.

Hey Yamahamer, this was an outstanding read. Good looking out! It should be required reading for all those members on this site. I think the guy said what I've been bumblingly trying to say all along since I've joined this forum.

This guy addressed many of the points that make Hayden's run so extraordinary, an yet, it has been with disbelieving amazment that many still don't give the guy his props. Some still try to say stuff like it was his fault for letting the points lead slip through his fingers.

A superb read Yamahamer, nice one. I'll be keeping an eye on this guys blog from now on.

Interesting point he makes about Pedrosa and Hayden being team mates next year and both obviously wanting to win. I wonder whether Puig will have as much influence with HRC as suggested. We shall see

Oh. Because that is a Marine Corps famous quote that I learned while in bootcamp. I just thought you were a Marine.
