On the actual race bikes? Is it just the testing laps?

I think I assumed they sort of turn up at 'work' and ride these bikes all the time. But it's just dawning on me that they only get to ride them during the test sessions and GP weekends. Are they not allowed on them in between? What will they be doing between now and the next test in Philip Island in a couple of weeks?

They're only allowed to ride the GP bikes on race weekends, official tests and permitted private tests , not sure on the number allowed but it's not many.

Uccio has a lot of work to do before Phillip Island if he wants to remain as top dog in 2017. He is taking lessons in foot massage therapy ... who says you cant teach an old dog new tricks.

He will be specifically studying the art of Thai massage and focussing his efforts on delivering amazing happy endings.

They can only use them at tests and race weekends. For practice, they use other bikes. VR uses an R1M. Last year Aleix used a GXSR 1000 with gp brakes and tires.

...and Tito was supposedly purchasing a proddy RCV to practice on during closed season.

I remember a story about Neevesy I think it was who had been product testing at Donington and some weekend warrior in spanking new gear on a showroom R1 pulled up next to him in pit lane waiting to join the circuit. By his own admission, relishing the prospect of schooling a noob, he was utterly humiliated by the second lap when exiting the Old Chicane, the kid was already up at Coppice. After the session and having been lapped twice the lad took his Arai off and it was Hopper (having just joined WCM) learning the track for the British GP which was a fortnight away.
