if your carlos checa on a tech3 yamaha in 2006 then nothing...

i dont know, it depends on a lot of things i imagine. private sponsors is where most of the money comes from i think though. like nicky gets a royalty from Gas and hopkins that monster drink.

from figures that the press released in the rossi tax scandal we worked out that he earns about 600, 000 ( i think it was euros) a week! although that is based on tabloid figures so its not exactly trustworthy and apparently he's the third highest paid sportsman

Rossi's Yamaha salary was reported to be in the region of US$17m a year when he first signed with them. His total income including endorsements was estimated to be US$30m a year. I read somewhere that the Hayden, Melandri and Pedrosa level are round about USD$3-5 base salary. Colin Edwards was at around $1-1.5m I once read. Note that this is all hearsay on my part but it would seem in line.

this may be complete rubbish (and probably is!) but i remember reading (dunno where!) that Rossi earned £6million a year at honda and took a paycut to £5million a year when he signed for yamaha. presumbly new contracts have increased this figure i think £8million was quoted by the media but thats probably a guess!

Ukawa was being paid pretty the same as Rossi at Honda and he was rubbish so Hayden and Pedrosa are probably around the £5million a year.

Hopper is meant to be on huge wages at Kawasaki next year.

money must be the reason he's taking, what most think, is a backwards step

estimated at £3mil

Most of the guys at the back will probably be paying for their rides (or their sponsors will). It's difficult to say exactly what the guys at the front are payed because there are so many clauses and bonuses that go with it.

I don't they many will, lets face it if you're doing what you love doing for a living thats worth far more than any sum of money as far as im concerned.

Anything done for money as the only reward will inevitably suffer a fast demise...

when you look at the likes of beckham and the amount he gets paid compared to the likes of Rossi - it's a joke.

i don't have much time for prima donna footballers as it is but the money thing is just ridiculous.
