It seems to have all gone wrong for Honda since Rossi left in 2003 and now they don't have anybody experienced to develop the bike, guys like Biaggi and Sete are gone.

Nicky does not know how to develop a bike, only in his own style. Dani is the wrong size and the bike has been made with him in mind.

I'm thinking if Rossi had stayed Honda would still be top manufacturer, worse business decision ever

One GP win this year has got to be one of their worst ever seasons, there was always alot of satisfaction from getting one over on Honda but now its too easy

Why did they not shake up the teams, its obviously not working and with 2008 around the corner there doesn't seem to be alot of rider changes just more rookies coming in.

In my opinion they should have done their darn best to get Melandri on a Factory Honda not let him leave and go to a Rival.

if hayden hadn't won the title, then i think melandri would probably have been the other rider in the repsol pit with pedrosa...

but he couldn't wait that long and, we dont really know how good he will be as a development rider yet as the ducati will be his first full factory ride. if honda had taken a gamble, and put melandri on a repsol instead of barros or biaggi, the results could be quite different now...who knows..

just guesses really.

To be fair the only thing holding Honda back from total domination in 2004/05/06 was Rossi, so in that respect they have done rpetty much all they could do without him. Also remember that honda won all three titles just last season. This year has certainly been poor but its too early to be saying Honda are dead since Rossi left, in any case i think JB was more valuable to them anyway.

For 07, you could add the new tire rules, 800 rules, ducati, stoner, and still rossi + burgess.

HRC is sweating bullets all season, I'll bet they will back stronger next year.

Is this something you know to be true or is this your opinion?
I don't know the anwser to that question but I have never heard anyone write or say this in any news outlet or publication.

Everyone knows Honda got it wrong this year but 2006 and 2005 wern't
exactely disasters

Perhaps Honda should employ Gary McCoy to develop the Honda for 2008....He'd certainly make a great tyre tester for HRC Michelin.

The Real McCoy. The most spectacular racer who even made Hayden's road slides look like McCoy was flat tracking.

Its my opinion of course but Nicky comes from superbike / dirt background not 250cc and these bikes are becoming more like 250s in every way. As for Dani he has less experience and i just don't feel confident in his development skills because he a very much undersized unique rider.
