Good morning, I have read many comments on the rcv1000r, so I thought I would say a few words, despite many of the opinions stated on this and other forums, make no mistake, this bike is competitive.
This is a full RCV213 without a few specs, the lack of pneumatic valves is of no consequence when viewed with next years rules in mind, since the adoption of pneumatics valve spring technology has moved on a great deal, WSS engines can be thanked for this. The 20ltr fuel rule will stop any increase in the rev ceiling and reduce it at fast tracks, the 4ltr advantage will allow the production bike to produce as much horsepower as the factory bikes and for longer.
The Showa suspension supplied will be to the exact spec as Alvaro is using, and teams who purchase the bike will have full access to all data acquired this season, though a move to Ohlins is a drop in the ocean given the cost of the initial package.
The advantage gained by the seamless gearboxes of is very little in real terms when you look at how much time can be lost by a simple mistake in breaking or sliding.
This is a competitive machine even when compared directly to the full factory prototypes, they cost 1.2 million euros for a reason.

no.

factory revs won't climb primarily because of the 81mm bore. the honda especially revs pretty much as high as it possibly can.

the bikes will definately not produce more power than the protos, not even over race distance as opposed to qualy.

best you can hope for atm is that the proddy will be only  a few tenths slower than the satellite bike while being significantly cheaper.

maybe i'm wrong here but ask yourself this:

if stoner would have come close to his prototype times, like say only 0.3 or 0.5 of a second slower....what better advertisment in the world than publish those times?

but still, honda chose not to and they still have some bikes to sell...

i expect it to fill the void left by aprilia

The reality is Honda would show potential customers those times - but there wouldn't be much advantage in publishing them to the public/competition. The word from the last test was that the HRC test rider was half a second off the pace compared to his time on the Factory bike, and that Stoner was similar to that.

I still think a Satellite bike is just as quick (almost) as a factory bike except for the riders. So the RCV1000R will be maybe half a second off those bikes, given an equally fast rider. Hopefully Hayden is up to the task of showing the potential of the bike at the Valencia test.

You are correct, Stoners times were very close to that of the factory bike, and bare in mind he had no set up data for the bike itself let alone the suspension, with a full two day test he would have been on par with his times on the factory machine. The teams who purchase this machine have been made fully aware of this.

Quick question to you the-insider: Are you Shuhei Nakamoto and are you here to sell us the remaining RCV1000Rs?

I just thought I would come and say what I know about the RCV1000R, I am no one famous and have no agenda, and I do not expect anyone to take my word, but for those who think this machine will be swapping paint with CRTs are in for a massive shock. This will be the best bike Nicky has ridden since his title winning year, and he will be very quick. Scott Reading in my opinion will be able to take the fight to the established order on this bike.

Talk of Honda not wanting the entire 24 litre allowance for the "production" Honda adds credence to you. I suspect the Honda engineers are not capable of under-engineering a bike to be non-competitive, I think Honda have been relying on the IT guys in regard to the satellite bikes.

I am glad you see past the nonsense Michaelm, this machine can run at a competitive level without the extra fuel, with the extra four litres it will actually have an advantage in certain areas.  Honda are not stupid.

So you're saying this bike will be competing with the current factory and satellite bikes? Did you even read what Casey said about the engine braking and lack of power? You sound like the Ducati insider that was all over twitter giving everyone false hope for Nicky, he was later demoted to the satalite Ducatis and never heard from again.

insider, welcome aboard.  All I can say is time will tell.  I don't think Nicky will be flying around in Valencia shocking everyone, mostly because he will not know how to react to a bike that brakes and turns properly after so many years on the Ducati.

I didn't come here to argue buddy, I am fully aware of what Casey said, I read it before you, this machine was being compared to the full factory bike, and it is not in its final state, however his times were .8 off, so with the slight lull in power, and the engine braking issue, it was still very close, these issues have now been well sorted, but is I have already said you don't have to take my word for it, I will repost your comments when it is on the track, I don't have a twitter account and why would I praise Ducati?

Thank you for the warm welcome L8Braker, of course it will take him time, but as you say this bike will do what he asks of it, unlike his current ride, as I have said previously, this is the best bike he has ridden since he title year, in my honest opinion Nicky has lost none of his pace.

WOW, WTF,  I work for KHI and two ex college's/close friends work for HRC, I have been following this project very closely as it is something that KHI and Suzuki were discussing as a joint venture. We did it with motocross, we combined our "works" knowledge and co produced production bikes together. I came here to have what I thought would be intelligent chat, and say a bit about what I know. Now I am ..........., thanks for the warm welcome and I will be off.

Mick, been rough on here lately for new members, if they are in fact new, we have too many posers pissing everyone off and coming back with a new name, so I understand putting the guard up right away.

Maybe we can all give them a 20 post minimum to feel them out before laying mushroom clouds...dunno?  I'm not a moderator and don't care for moderation, I think everyone should be able to say what they want on here.

insider, if you have not already left you can probably surmise we've dealt with a  lot of BS on here lately from pissed off members returning with different screen names or some post with two screen names, for example SuperShinya56 and MotoChick.  In any case you have to have some thick skin to stay on PS.

I don't do Facebook,  I don't do Twatter,  I don't do Forums.  I talk to my friends,  I found this place while sending some e mails and waiting for PI qualifying,  I don't care about your ex members and their issues, I did however take a good look around after logging off, and well, to be honest there are some smart people on here, but just chill, anyway my credentials are very checkable, I do work for KHI, I was very much involved in the MX partnership between KHI and Suzuki, I believe you have an ex MCN guy on here, I worked for Alec Wright, I know his son Colin Wright, I left after seven years and moved to Belgium, I am now back in the UK. but if this is how you treat a newcomer then, I am done, sorry but calling me a liar is a no no, Enjoy PI and don't forget, you are in for a shock next year, and Nicky will at least podium. good bye. Gary.
