Yes, has happened to several race tracks in Sydney I frequented in my youth, including one which operated only 2 weekends a year. As the article satirises, the track had operated for years with no houses within tens of kilometers, then houses were built next to it and the residents complained.Happens all the time. Tracks everywhere are affected. The righteous whiners with money always seem to think they can win. I of course always hope they do not.
