I feel like something keeps getting lost in translation with this story. Why did both he and his girlfriend get charged and sentenced? Court system works fast in Spain, apparently.
Apparently they were both knocking each other around. Probably some drunk dispute on the Jerez wine, brandy. The court system in Spain is a JOKE. If there is money to be shared, anything can be "fast tracked." I expect him to be at the race next weekend.

Motogp riders are small, when they stand next to a real human it dawns on you very quickly, there are some girls without being heffalumps who could kick him, Dani, MM and so on in the butt. He has a black eye which is funny. He did get his arse kicked by a girl.

I can see it in my head, both pissed, both belligerent in my experience where both parties have assaulted and been assaulted the wise thing for them to do is for him to sleep somewhere else, for them both to sober up and lick each others wounds later. What a pissed ..... does is (despite one's own inculpation) is demand the other party goes to gaol, hell and everywhere else unpleasant (They will be in Paris next week anyway), which in turn leads to the counter complaint and they both get locked up.
It just demonstrates that he rides muddaboikes, he ain't a rocket surgeon.
Between the lines - both parties arrested DV - they were a pair of cnts.

As Roo says most GP riders are hobbits, out of the current crop only Scotty Redding would put the fear into anyone. Now of course, big Rob McElnea was another matter.
