According to a local newspaper Levante-EMV. Gresini made a firm offer to Hector Barberá. Barberá's manager says it's their best and most serious offer but they're also in talks with Tech3 so they haven't taken a decision yet.

If this is true it looks like DeAngelis and Elías will be watching the races on TV next season.

yeah i heard this the other day somewhere?

interesting... simoncelli & barbera. the wrecking crew!
<
hell they'll do alot better than elias & de angelis. de agelis has been absolutly a disapointment & toni well he's had his bright spots but far to few. world sbk anyone...

Well its not like deangelis and elias set the world on fire.

Hahahh, it's probably for Moto2's Gresini team, and they are using media leverage to try for GP

That I'd love to see.

Jeez yeah, there was no love loss there.

I hope this is unfounded, I'm already stoked about the possibility of Marco's return

I hope so.

Barbera has got no business in GP. If he is looking to get into GP's its because his manager is terrified of what will happen if everyone is on relatively equal equipment.

Barberá's 250cc results are similar or better than guys that made it to MotoGP like De Puniet, Takahashi, De Angelis, Elías etc... so he deserves it as much as them.

Given his current results 2 consecutive poles, 3rd in the championship and beating Simoncelli on track and on the standings I don't see why it's not a logical choice. In the world I just see Bautista, Spies and Simoncelli (maybe Aoyama) as better options and I asume they already have their MotoGP future ready.

I hope it's true, I'd really like to see how the rivalry with Simoncelli gets to a new level being teammates.

Sure he may have earned the right or deserve it, the guy certainly is fast, but I don't see how Barbara can do any better then de Angelis. He's riding a bit more sensibly this year, but I still think he is a bit of a maniac on the track. Simoncelli as well. Makes for great entertainment though.

I really like Bautista but I predict he will have similar results as JT. Simoncelli I see as having Vermeulen type results. The talent that is in front of these guys is just too much for them to come in and succeed like Lorenzo or even Dovi. Lorenzo has been an exception, but getting on the #1 Yamaha team sure didn't hurt.

Simoncelli we know will be with Gresini and will more then likely take over Elias' "factory" Honda. Personally I would rather see Melandri back with Gresini then Barbara. Who knows maybe Barbara can rake up a load of sponsorship dollars and take over the ride at Scot Honda?
