That's too much for synn. Back then he was being carried around in his dad's scrotum sack.

I'm actually surprised this thread has stayed in tact and not gone nuclear.

Anyway, here is another great performance, speaking of scrotum sacks, Pedros most likely had access to SNS, remembering he discarded his at Estoril in 06 (see my previous post) and of course VR (sorry Rossi fans, just a point of fact). Check out the last lap! 2006 Sausage Ring, 4 way battle for the win.

4 posts into the thread and you’ve done your part to derail it. Oh well, so much for the “ignore” button, perhaps it doesn’t work properly.

Hola Yaya!

The button works just fine - I don't see his posts but couldn't miss the thread.

Have to say your post is ...... Back in the day - the number one ........ accusation from you and JKD was Net Nanny Net Nanny Net Nanny and now the huarache is on the other foot. You always did play it from both sides of the fence.

The thread is doing just fine. Nobody is bitching and moaning except you. Stop cloggin' the thread.

The thread title says nothing about Rossi (Unless you agree with me that he is the GOAT).

Another ........ Kurryfart lie busted. You can’t help read my posts and you know it.

Now run along, real men are discussing real racing here.

Wait, so you don't "see" Synn's post, but you know its someone on your "ignore" list, and this prompted you to troll the thread blindly? That's fascinating. What's the point of using the ignore feature if you ignore it?

Well, let's see who is playing nanny:

How many “I like Rossi” threads do we need?

You registered your disapproval of this thread, that is, you try to 'control' the content of the forum, that's what nannies do genius.

Actually Kesh, I was late to this thread but I did notice some others pointing out an attempt to derail the thread and the side conversation about it. Pye replied to you expressing that Synn had yet not abused anybody and expressed hope for the thread, Mdub pointed out a tally of trolling attempt highlighting the fact Synn had not overreacted, Gaz and MikeM acknowledged that the thread is legit until it's not, so no, I'm not the only one "bitching" about it. I'm holding you accountable Kesh, the onus is on you, not only did you pledge but you said you finally discovered the ignore! I'm not gonna let you just troll a thread and let it slide when you're the only one making promises. You said you were going to ignore 'your' trolls, you're doing a piss poor job of it given post #5 was a trolling attempt, and off topic I might add. Take responsibility, say something like, my bad, .... you could have deleted the post since it was out of place. You're the one making pledges and promises. The thread is about great performances, so you don't need to express your disapproval.

Now let's move on. Talk about some great performances, can we do that? We don't need your permission. You know any great performances people can talk about? Add one instead of poo pooing the thread immediately as you did. Give this place a chance!

How do you bring up Dungey and forget Villopoto. RV waxed Dungeys ... his whole career and had a similar persona, but slightly more emotional.
Dungey was like a whipped dog. It’s one of the reasons I never liked him very much. No matter how much he got beat, it never seemed to bother him.

I get why you liked him, he’s a class guy but he seemed like he was always going through the motions and resorted himself to second place. He reminds me a lot of Dovi
Whipping dog? I don’t know about that, see below.

He reminds you of Dovi, that's a great compliment to Dungey then! True, Dungey didn’t wear his heart on sleeve and didn’t rub it in people's faces when he won. Sure Villapoto was a great rider, but he quit, and I know how much you hate that (ha!). Actually, my disappointment for Villapoto came when he raced in MXGP and looked like he was just going through the motions. No desire to win like he used to show in SX. Dungey was mild mannered, but his last championship season we saw raw emotion against Tomac. The greatest thing I could say about Dungey is that he refused to employ dirty chickenshit tactics of running people off track or using rivals as berms, dirty tactics that are infuriatingly allowed in the sport.

Synn didn’t specify, and I hope nobody expresses their 'disapproval', but one of the greatest SX performances was Ryan Dungey, Minneapolis 2013. Enjoy.

Actually, one I forgot ......... dates back many years.

1988 French GP.

Gardner, Lawson, Schwantz, Sarron

I liked Villopoto more than I liked Dungey. I mentioned Dungey in order to bring an example to help anyone reading getting a better idea of what I was saying :)

However since you mentioned it and since I like American motocross almost as much as I like MotoGP I'll be going OT and give you my opinion.

Talent, speed and technique wise there's no comparison. RV > RD and honestly that's not debatable IMHO.

I only reckon Dungey comes off as a more chilled dude, which brings us back to the example I made above about sponsors loving him. Dungey had that "I'm just a nice kid" appeal, nothing could touch him like you say.

RV wasn't more emotional, he was simply rawer. Kinda like Casey.

We are anyways talking about two amazing sportsmen, I'd like to underline that.
Agree with much of your take, but I'm compelled to point out a few facts, Dungey was on a KTM that at the time was still trying to break the Japanese factory strangle hold on SX titles, and he succeeded, whilst Villapoto was on one of thee best ran SX teams and packages with Kawasaki. Second, Dungey was the cleanest rider ever to win multiple titles bar none. That makes it more difficult to win when you refuse to capitulate to dirty tactics, tactics I should point out are accepted in this sport. Thirdly, without looking it up, Dungey has got to be near the top 5 in all time wins, and certainly his consistency is noteworthy. If he didn’t win he was generally on the podium.

Ryan Villapoto's career is stellar, I'm not inclined to say Dungey played second fiddle as their careers though overlapped, were on staggered trajectories; Ryan Dungey is in the conversation of the all time greats with, Villapoto, Hanna, Stewart, Carmichael and the King of SX Jeremy McGrath.

This here is one of Dungey's greatest MX performances (I posted a SX one above). I've raced amateur here at Glenn Helen. I can tell you the TV doesn't do this course justice. It's utterly sick, scary difficult, and these two were racing at death-defying speeds. Enjoy.

Since we're going way back ....

Any ride by Jarno Saarinen

He kinda changed racing and stepped up the competition. A style changer.

Another race that was fantastic, but solely for the actual racing as opposed to a single rider masterclass was PI last year. That was edge of the seat stuff, there was a fair bit of rubbing but it was one of my favorite races for a long time.

Yeah good point ... it was described as the best race since Catalunya 07 ( touted as a possible best race ever). But I think PI 17 was better.

Seems to me you are trying to derail it as well, this is about racing not who you don't like, so please bottle it.

Not a GP but Hislops Senior TT win on the Norton in 1992 has to be up there, a win on a fecking Norton!

To be fair those Nortons used to rule the British national championship in the 90s, much faster than anything else.

True but that white one which Hizzy rode was a last minute deal and prior to the TT all Hislop had done on it was a test at Oulton Park where it blew up after 6 laps and apparently they were an absolute pig to ride and just wanted to wheelie everywhere.

I do remember the Duckhams bikes that Ian Simmo and Phil Borley rode in 1994 but those bikes weren't official Nortons they were Rotons that had been developed by Brian Crighton after he split from Norton in 1990. The official Norton factory team folded in 1992.

I saw them a few times when my mate was racing privateer class. They sounded awesome and the 750s just were blown away by the extra speed of them. Met Ian Simpson and Edwards Slighty etc at Brands.

Yeah Josh Brookes raced one at the Classic TT last year and it just howls, I know the straight line speed of them was mad at the time, at the 1990 North West 200 they were going through the speed trap 15mph faster than the works Hondas.

Simmo's a cracking bloke, amazing to think he managed to win 6 British Championships, 3 TT's and 5 NW200's despite breaking his legs 4 times and having to retire aged 30, probably the best rider Britian had who didn't get a chance on the world stage.
