Graeme Crosby - Racing in the late 70's/early 80's

Interesting reading this guy's racing history. We always just focus on the darlings of the sport, but its refreshing to read the grass roots racers who are out their on their own dime at high levels.

Ah, Croz. What a man.

I love that quote "Which way does the track go and whats the lap record". That sums up his approach to racing. Gardner was called the wild one, but that equally applied to "Croz".

I remember watching him race the old modified z1 kwakas around mt panorama etc, and outperforming faster bikes. Even raced the huge z1300 around there too. Did ok on a 500 too, I believe.

One of the funniest commentators on tv too. Those that knew him personally say that he could be a crude bugger though (piss on your shoes when you weren,t looking ). He was one of those guys that were larger than life. He wouldn,t fit in with the tightly controlled motogp world now.

I think he would have got on well with Edwards, but maybe CE would be too tame for him.
