I don't say this too often (honest) but I reckon I could do a better job than Cox (I could never match Parrish's experience and inside knowledge).  Firstly I would research each race/circuit/rider/team and have a ....-load of facts on hand. Secondly I would be able to watch the TV monitors and actually articulate into words what I saw on the screen (something that I regularly do in advance of the existing BBC duo much to the annoyance of my wife).  Thirdly, I am able to string together a sentence without coughing my guts up like Cox does.  Fourthly, I'd take Azi out and show her what a good time really is (much to the annoyance of my wife).


 


Anyone on here willing to give me a good reference for the job?

Seriously, I'll bet that 50% of the PS Monkey Farm members could, with a touch of practice, do a better job that the 'professionals.'


 


Does that multi-view MotoGP function offer a live video stream that comes with ambient noises, but w/o any commentary?  With the right software (Pigeon, can you advise?), it just might be possible to capture this, add some PS jive talk, and then stream it out for all to enjoy.  That would be a hoot and a half!

I like Parish. When i met him at Laguna i not only told him i was a fan, i also told him i stick up for him while the haters .... talk him on ps. I was indeed pointing straight at Arrab when i said that. parish was actually a good laugh and latter in the day stitched the lot of us up while we were giving cox a hard time.

hahaha, that may have been because cox was talking to his wife so i grabbed his hand with phone and started talking to cox's wife. Then Parish appeared and shouted "dont talk to them cox. They were telling me what a ...... you are". Parish then pointed at us laughing his head off.

Well my views for what their worth.

I didn't like cox but he has of late had the guts to pass comments on tv that are negative towards the running of the sport, Kudos for that.


I quite like Toby Moody but detest Julian Ryder.  I would like Jack Barnacle to commentate on motogp. To be honest i would be quite happy to watch the race without some gimp giving his opinions. Most of the ..... they say is what fans had already said 5 mins earlier. We have a joke in our house about it being bugged. It seems every time i say something its repeated on tv within minutes.

If it's a budget commentator they're after then may I suggest resurrecting the career of Barry Nutley (Pete will also testify to this choice if only for comic value alone).  Where not the token Austrailian - almost a pre-requisite in mainstream bike coverage since the excellent Leigh Diffey - (I think when he departed WSBk the BBC attempted to pass off Cox as one and the same in the forlorn hope no one would notice). Nutley is nonetheless so dreadful, quite frankly I'd sooner listen to Barry J Taylor...at least he ticks the Aussie box.


 


Heuwen has long been rumoured for the job casting speculation of a possible reunion with Ryder. IMO, he's not that far removed from Parrish - minus the truck racing titles.


 


My ideal commentary team? To hell with any objections over pay for view - I'd remortgage the house to hear Rog and Jum in the box for a season.
