good read

Good read, but I don't agree with Noyes.

At 300+ km/h aerodynamics are as important as engine power, Dani has a high top speed because his small frame makes him have a better aero coefficient than bigger riders.

If you look at Hayden's top speed in China with that same engine he's 1 km/h slower than Rossi!!! And so are all the rest of Honda engined bikes (except Melandri who is another tiny fella).

Considering the Honda is a slimer bike than Yamaha (V4 vs 4 inline) IMO the Yamaha is more powerful than the Honda right now.

The one thing i disagree with, is the one tire scenario. The competition between tire manufacturers is what keeps giving us,the every day rider, these unbelievable tires we use. What would be the motivation to improve if another company was not there pushing you.

Agreed with most everything in the article. Great summary of the season so far. I specially like the quote from King Kenny.

I'm not so sure the article disagrees.

This could be resolved by giving the tire companys limited contracts and have it open for bids. Only one tire brand per season but multiple brands could bid to provide their tires in other seasons.

The only thing that would do is start a bidding war and possibly riders saying i like this tire better than last years or vice versa.Bidding wars are not good for the consumer,we have to pay for those bids one way or another. These tire makers are in it for one reason, market share,or simply, money.I would like to see Bridgstones sales numbers since they have won 3 of the first 4 races this year. They were dominated for years by Michelin but kept at it and now have something to show for the hard work. Now it is Michelin's turn to respond, and i fully expect them to.
