GIVI joins up with Ducati Team for MotoGP World Championship
Ducati Corse is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with GIVI, a world leader in motorbike accessories, giving rise to an important new partnership for the Ducati Team in the MotoGP World Championship.
Thanks to this agreement, the GIVI brand will have major visibility on both sides of the rear swingarm of the new Ducati Desmosedici GP bikes of Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone, who will take part in the 2016 world championship for the Borgo Panigale squad.
"To be a sponsor of the Ducati Team in MotoGP not only represents an important choice from a media point of view," declared Giuseppe Visenzi, Chairman of GIVI, after the signing of the agreement with Ducati Corse. "Behind the decision there is a never-ending passion for motorbike racing, which still today plays an important role in my life and in my company vision. I have always tried to make GIVI become a brand capable of instilling positive values, and I hope I have succeeded! I'd personally like to send my best wishes to the team, the riders and Ducatisti all over the world".
Luigi Dall'Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, commented: "We are very pleased to have reached this accord with GIVI, the Italian company leader in its sector and present in the market at a global level. GIVI is a prestigious, well-known brand amongst motorcyclists and is also an important accessories supplier for Ducati, so for this reason it gives us great pleasure to have the GIVI logo on the factory Desmosedici GP bikes of Dovizioso and Iannone who are taking part in the 2016 MotoGP World Championship".
The history of the Brescia-based company began in 1978, thanks to an initiative of its founder, the former 350 cc world championship racer Giuseppe Visenzi. It operates on an international level, with subsidiaries in Germany, France, Britain, Spain, United States and Indonesia and manufacturing plants in Malaysia, Brazil and Vietnam.
In its role as Official Partner, GIVI will accompany the Ducati Team throughout the entire 2016 season.
