How are people getting to Misano from the UK for the Rimini/San Marino Gran Premio?
I've checked Skyscanner for this Saturday (12/9/2015) for flights to Rimini & San Marino airport: I'm getting flights from Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Russia, BUT absolutely nothing from the United Kingdom!

Look into flights to Bologna - then get the train. I think Easy Jet go from Gatwick, but it may be worth checking if Ryan Air fly there from either Stansted or Luton because I know they do from Manchester. I looked into going there to see WSBk - although that was almost a decade ago. Like you say, Rimini does has an airport but it doesn't seem any UK carriers go there. Only been up that way once and Rimini itself a .... tip. Italy's Skegness - (or 'Skaggy' as I prefer to call it). Tuvulia and Urbino in general is full of strange people almost universally dressed in yellow and brandishing rubber chickens.

Thank you, I've checked Bologna, but it looks like there is no train at the airport. It seems that you have to get a bus to Bologna train station and then a fast train to Rimini, then a slow train to Misano... so annoying...
3 years ago I just landed at Rimini airport (I think it was Ryanair from Stansted) and in 15 mins taxi I was on the beach in Misano, which by the way was nothing like Skegness... I had a great time, it was warm, including the sea and the food was brilliant.
On that note I assume even your descriptions of Tavullia and Urbino are probably not very accurate...

Blackpool then...but I agree, the climate is appreciably more clement and the beach is practically adjacent to the circuit.

Avoid Tavullia as a matter of priority...it is inhabited by a strange hermit/village ..... that goes by the name of Salucci and is occasionally seen impersonating his pet chicken called Osvaldo.

Why not simply fly into Bologna and hire a car?

Definitely fly to Bologna and rent a car at the airport. 3-4 days rental will cost less than the hassle of trains and buses.
Accomodation is widely available everywhere around Misano.
Rimini is actually an ancient city from the Roman times -- with a unique Roman bridge still in operation after 2,000 years and a beautiful old city, if you care about these things. I always stay in Rimini when I go to Misano.

Thanks J4rn0 for the tips: in fact I've just booked a hotel in Rimini Marino Centro to try somewhere different from Misano and I am indeed interested in Roman history.

The flight to Bologna didn't work out though. I left it too late because of work reasons and the only flights on Friday afternoon / evening are with BA at £ 500 (one way!).
Instead I found a cheap-ish flight to Dusseldorf on Friday eve (£60) and from there another one to Rimini on Saturday morning (£70). Cheap hotel near Dusseldorf airport and at 8am on Saturday we'll be already on the beach! Yeah!

I rode there 3 years ago, took it easy and its 2 days.

Thanks for the idea Theo, but I don't get much time off and 2 days travelling each way it's too long for me.

Thanks Mark: I hope the campaign is successful. I've liked the page and I hope other people on here will do the same.

By the way, great to see two Brits on the podium!
