Quotes from Cal and Vale:

On the fuel limits / absence of combined minimum weights, see:

VR and Cal very concerned about the consequences of the 20 litres next year.

"Where we are losing, for sure, is on the first lap. Valentino and I believe it is a lot to do with the sighting lap to the grid as we have to ride at 30kph which means we can't scrub the tyre. Then on the warm-up lap, we are trying to get the shine off the tyre and we're already a lap behind as Jorge is lighter and has a different riding style, he is able to push from the start and we are not. Mind you, it is also him. But we are cutting too much power and we can't compete because we don't have enough fuel."

VR and cal?
all i see is cryslow preparing his excuses for next year. useless pom .....
can't wait to hear redding complain how cheauvinistic gp has become.

Little whining going on...

You should have been here in 2007. When the Honda's got smaller, a certain someone here went on for months bitching and moaning about how the shrinking of the Honda was a huge conspiracy against normal sized riders. The midget jokes were non-stop for 6 months or more. On the other hand watching Rossi, Hayden and Spies turning skeletal before your eyes was pretty disturbing to many of us here. So it's not totally without merit to say that the parameters for riders wanting to be competitive have narrowed considerably over the last 6 years or so.

Weight of riders/drivers have been a debate for 100's of years. Goes all the back to horse racing when they added extra weight to horses.. Eventually, through the revolution of racing, the Jockey's shrunk to be little guys. Figure car and motorcycle racing will go that route as regs and specs keep the different bike mfg equal and the teams look for every advantage possible. And 10 lbs on a 400 lbs bike probably does save .0004 seconds..

Tru nuf. At least Dorna aren't taking lessons from the Saudis who hire 14 year old boys from Bangladesh to race the camels.

Fuel is 22 liters for 2016.

That should make fuel saving more or less obsolete? Forgive me for not being up to date for the past two years or so, but what became of the rev limit? A liter more and 1k revs less should solve everything I guess?

Neither Honda nor Ducati would swallow a rev limit. No use for their unobtainium engineering.

22 liters with spec software will put them in a position similar to where Ducati are today, fine most of the time, not so good at others.

So what exactly does the new software mean? Much simpler tc/launch control or basically the same stuff with a different software? Does this mean we should expect an increase in hp or does the bore limit (if its still there) mean they can't rev higher anyways?
Thx for the info,appreciate it

Less complex software, but still relatively close to what the factories have now. Won't get a HP increase. And bore limit still there.

Thanks krop.
Sounds like the m.s.m.a. or h.o.n.d.a. or whatever they're called won . I remember reading something vastly different a few years back. Namely no tc, 24l and a rev limit of 15k. Sucks

What I'd like to see is the banning of all aids in motogp, all this launch control, brake assist, lean angle while accelerating or braking assist, it should rely on the riders ability. The way it is now its suitable for brainless dunces which is about 90% of all riders in the 3 groups.

Aids is bad,agreed.
It's basically the reason anyone of us can hop on the bikes and perform at the same level as these "aliens"
