<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Capirex @ Dec 21 2006, 01:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Is my strong belief that he would have won it if there wasn't for Catalunya
<

Actually, I don't like to admit it, but you are right about him winning it all. But, Catalunya ended that (and by his teammate no less; that should make you mad, errr).

Loris started the season in outstanding form and showed what him and a great bike can do. If you noticed (silly me, I'm sure you did) he was unbeatable when he was healthy. Yeah Bayliss and Rossi beat him straight up in a couple of races (both of which were close finishes), but when Loris returned the favor to Rossi, the yellow bike wasn't even in the teli picture when the beautiful red 65 Ducati crossed the line the very next race. Even when Pestdrosa looked like he was gonna mount a challenge Loris responded and won the race. He started the season in great form and ended it that way. Actually, I think Sete would have done well but he had poor tire choice in Italy after they both but the tri-coloures on the P1 &2 on the grid.

I really don't think the Ducati will field a competitive bike because they are fairly small operation. Yes, I hope I'm wrong. I look back to Ducati's first season, and thanks to Loris (and Sete), they proved that even in their first year they were capable of qualifying on the front row. But it was two/ three years before they could do this consistently. Taking nothing away from Bayliss (you here me Richo) but I do think the great bike/tire combo at Valencia was impart a contributor to his win, and Loris was not far behind (just in front of the new world champ).

Loris, being the senior veteran on the track, diced it up with anybody willing to bring it this year. I still have the image in my mind of the dicing between him and Rossi, and I think Rossi ended up with the better last line. But you saw how Loris responded the next race. I think this has to do with the fact that he is the senior veteran and prudently not willing to run the younger Italian off the track in order to win. I expect Loris to do well with whatever they put under him, but even great talent can’t overcome under power. Like I said, I hope I’m wrong. Not by chance but by design I own two Ducatis.

Yeah, that's the trade off for having a tempermental machine. But damn, at the canyon, it's all worth the trouble.

+1 to antfan's rep!!
I think Dani is the next big thing!
Also, I hope Ant will get a good ride this year... although I heard his attitude isn't helping him get it..

Antfan you legend! He got you, Yama, you Rossi-loving Redneck!
<
Looks like Honda have upgraded him with some parts from the "Toy store" Down the road from HRC HQ.

I agree with Chemikaze, Pedrosa is the next... I can't say "Big thing" for obvious reasons, and I can't say Rossi because he's more robot than chimpanzee, let's just say he'll be one to watch.

Yay, that makes my rep 1 haha..

I agree that Dani is the next thing, hell i think he'll win the championshipin 07, but like richo, i cant call him big
<

Ant is in line for a semi factory ride in 07, most likely riding for Aprilia Germany (judging by the porvisional entry list) which is a step up from this year (private kit bike.)

From someone that is kinda on the inside as far as Ant is concerned, I can confirm that his attitude has improved leaps and bounds over the last half of this year and this new ride will only improve it, just wait and see...

Ant is in Australia atm for holidays and once he returns to Europe (january some time) his deal will be finalised (it is finalised now, he just has to sign, kinda a pain that they cant announce without a signature
<
)

Anyway, glad my wreckage of Yamm was appreciated

Peace..

So is this thread about Nicky or Dani? You guys can't seem to leave Dani alone could you? Anyway, those pics, I've not seen them anywhere before. How did you manage to lay your hands on them? Or perhaps you're together with him at that time.
<
Dani looks young in those pic, maybe that was during his 125cc days. By the way, I prefer Dani the way he is........cool, calm and collected. He doesn't need to change just to please a certain someone.

Don't worry, Ros, they might laugh at the pictures of Pedrobot, but you get the last laugh when Rossi opens his mouth "Eees veri 'ard to poosh da ya-ma-ah, but we do some pooshing, and Jeremy come, and he poosh my ya-ma-ah, and we all poosh , and maybe can winna da race."
