With Misano, venue for the forthcoming San Marino Grand Prix, returning to the MotoGP calendar for the first time since 1993 - and with a much-modified layout - there will be additional practice time for all three classes.
An extra hour of Friday free practice will be given to the MotoGPriders (from 16.15-17.15), whilst the 250cc and 125cc classes will see their Friday free practice sessions extended by 30 and 15 minutes respectively.
The extra time is customary at new additions to the world championship and has been implemented previously in first-time visits to tracks in China, the United States of America and Turkey.
As a result of this change, Race Direction have also informed MotoGP teams that a modification will apply to the 2007 tyre regulations for the MotoGP race at Misano.
An extra 1 front and 2 rear tyres will be available for riders running Bridgestoneand Michelin rubber over the entire race weekend (15 fronts and 19 rears in total). As has been the case since the start of the season, Dunlop will have no tyre limit to which to adhere.
