Spanish 250cc rider Aleix Espargaro will make his MotoGP debut in Indianapolis after taking Mika Kallio's seat at Pramac Ducati team for the next two races while the Finn continues to sub for Casey Stoner in the factory squad.
World Superbike rider Michel Fabrizio raced for the team in Brno, but was forced to retire with a torn shoulder muscle.
The 20-year-old Espargaro has only raced in two 250 events this season and scored his best ever grand prix finish at Assen earlier this year, after 44 starts in the category.
Espargaro was the youngest rider to win the 125cc Spanish Championship in 2004.
"I am very happy as this season has been very hard for me," said the Spaniard. "We are beginning a project for next year to be back in the world championship and this will be a good occasion to get back in touch with with my world.
"This season I have ridden for a couple of races in the 250cc category in Assen and Sachsenring concluding in fourth and seventh position therefore I feel physical ready.
"It's like a dream come true to find my self all of a sudden in MotoGP. I want to thanks the Pramac Racing Team that is giving me this opportunity to compete at the top level of motorcycle road racing."
