I thought it was really cool as well. You can't help but think that just might be the future of motorcycle racing, and those riders were the pioneers. It had that old school atmosphere that comes to mind when you think of the first races held at the beginning of last century. I am just imagining honda and the msma lobbying the powers that be at dorna 50 years from now to switch to electric bikes with a mixed grid transition year
kinda off-topic but my dad knows Michael Barnes (dude who finished 2nd) and introduced me. really cool guy. he has done AMA and has done Macau a few times. glad to see he has found something new to do. hopefully when i go back down to South Florida in a few months i'll be able to ask him what he thought about the bikes.
