I think he simply wasn't fast enough to be at the front. His helping out towards the end is understandable but i am not keen on the attitude. Not that it matters because Elias and KRJR got through anyway. I don't think Pedrosas assistance in Valencia was an issue because Hayden was coming through no matter how small or large the gap would have been. But had Pedrosa pulled over from the lead to let Hayden through i would have been hugely dissapointed.
Also, Hayden's consistent performances cannot be compared to obeying team orders, he is actually going for the win every weekend, he is just smart enough to stop when he reaches his limit. The problem with the Edwards thing is that he rode below his potential for the sake of another rider, thats not racing.
Tom, but Pedrosa did let Hayden pass, Perdosa even got his foot out to tell Hayden on what side to overtake him and then opened up just getting into the next turn!
Also, I am not saying Hayden’s was on team orders the whole season… like you said “he is just smart enough to stop when he reaches his limit”… then again to “always go for the win” you most of the time need to be “On the Limit or even above it” as most great riders have acknowledged…
