<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tom @ Feb 8 2007, 11:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I think Edward wasn't behind Rossi on purpose for the entire season. I think he simply wasn't fast enough to be at the front. His helping out towards the end is understandable but i am not keen on the attitude. Not that it matters because Elias and KRJR got through anyway. I don't think Pedrosas assistance in Valencia was an issue because Hayden was coming through no matter how small or large the gap would have been. But had Pedrosa pulled over from the lead to let Hayden through i would have been hugely dissapointed.

Also, Hayden's consistent performances cannot be compared to obeying team orders, he is actually going for the win every weekend, he is just smart enough to stop when he reaches his limit. The problem with the Edwards thing is that he rode below his potential for the sake of another rider, thats not racing.

Tom, but Pedrosa did let Hayden pass, Perdosa even got his foot out to tell Hayden on what side to overtake him and then opened up just getting into the next turn!

Also, I am not saying Hayden’s was on team orders the whole season… like you said “he is just smart enough to stop when he reaches his limit”… then again to “always go for the win” you most of the time need to be “On the Limit or even above it” as most great riders have acknowledged…

My point about the pedrosa deal is that he gave hayden room to pass (let him past) but if he didn't Hayden would have gone through anyway, Hayden had superior pace and Dani was never going to able to beat him on that day. That is the maximum extent i think team orders should work. If pedrosa had Ducati pace that day i am sure he would have let Hayden past and i would not be happy about that. Do you see my point? Edwards said he had to wait for Rossi to get in front and slow people up and stuff. He implied that he thought he could have gone ahead of Rossi, but didn't. To me that is very different.

As for Hayde not going over the limit. I think you saw Hayden pushing to and even beyond the limit quite often. Assen is an obvious one, or at Turkey when he was braking way deep and forcing it back on line. Or Germany when he had a pedrosa stripe, or Oz when he went into the first turn practically last and came back or USA of course. Its not like hes been cruising for a year. It may appear that he didn't push that hard, but maybe thats because he rarely goes too far like some others do.

Look at the picture
<-------------------------- Championships don't come without pushing.

Yeah, it is an endless arguing… I am glad it will soon start over so we have new stuff to talk about. They all have to change their tactics and stuff like that, it may not be right or even wrong, I mean not everybody will agree, but for the racing spirit it is nicer to fight at the front always, and for the Championship sake consistency is fundamental… Guess what I am trying to say is that we are all mates and we all have our points of view and racing plus petrol is in our blod!
