A few days after Ducati MotoGP and SBK riders confirmed their attendance at WDW2018, another exciting development has made the event more of a must than ever: The Race of Champions.

On Saturday 21 July Ducati riders will engage in a thrilling challenge at the Misano World Circuit as they go head to head on limited-edition Panigale V4 S motorcycles with a special configuration.
Shortly before the race, aerobatics of Italy's Tricolour Arrows flying over the starting grid will make the event even more breath-taking.

Twelve renowned riders, "Ducati flagbearers" past and present, will compete in an unprecedented challenge: MotoGP and Superbike riders like Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo, Danilo Petrucci, Jack Miller, Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri will be there, as will first-rate riders like Troy Bayliss who have made Ducati history.

A true competition, from free practice to podium. There will also be the possibility, for a limited number of visitors of WDW, to experience the excitement of the starting grid. Quite a unique event that only Ducati can offer, and which represents one more reason not to miss the tenth edition of the World Ducati Week.

I wonder what they mean by “special configuration”? Will it be V4 Speciale or will it be beefed up V4S version? Either way, I personally can’t wait to ride the new Panigale V4 and my local dealer has a demo.... just haven’t found the time yet.

Would be cool to see CS compete in this made for marketing event. I don't expect it to be very meaningful, but it's mildly interesting.

If you live in a glass house don't throw rocks.

Same, it's hardly a champions of Ducati race without Stoner.

Great event anyway.

Pretty cool idea. Would be better with CS, but don’t see it. Still pretty cool event. Well done Duc.

I was wondering how much risk will ducati let those riders take on an event like that...
Many people might be eager to make a great pass on motogp stars on an equal bike
